I am a student and I am tired of taking oxycodone. I took the last dose this am and I am anticipating withdrawals. I have been taking about 90mg daily for 10 weeks. Please help me understand what I am about to go through and what I will experience. Any help would be very appreciated

I'm going through heroin withdrawal myself at the moment, but I've been using various opiates for 7 years so my experience won't be the same as yours. But at 10 weeks you'll definitely experience some withdrawal. Firstly don't expect to withdraw over the weekend and be back in school on Monday, give yourself a week or two if you can. The first 12 hours shouldn't be two bad, generally the worst symptoms start at about 24 hours. Everyone is different so no one can tell you what youll experience. Your habit isn't too bad, so hopefully you wont be too bad. One of the worst symptom is restless leg syndrome, you'll be constantly kicking and punching yourself in the legs, stomach problems like diorrheaha and throwing up. You'll be unable to regulate your body temp, so expect to go from sweating to freezing cold every 10 minutes. Those are the main symptoms, but there's lots more, just google cold turkey. Prepare yourself by drinking lots of fluids, get some benzos or otc sleeping meds if possible. And remember, if you don't do this now it'll get harder each time, 5 days or so and you'll start to feel better. I recommend that after your done, you go to some sort of counselling or even narcotics anonymous, the peroid after giving up is just as difficult, but in a different way. Good luck to you, you can do this.

hey man! good for you in taking the step to quit, its not easy to decide to stop and thats half the battle is wanting to truly get clean.
now, I've been doing opiates for 9 years, started with a few percocet, and became a bundle a day of heroin within a few years.
I once quit when my habit was 90mg of Roxys, so i know EXACTLY how to make it bearable. be glad its only that and not heroin, or a 300mgOXY habit.
So to start within 12 hours of your last pill youll start the withdrawal, and its not to bad until 24 hours in. So for remedies, heres a list.
KRATOM- is the the #1 thing you can have for withdrawal it will take away your WDs 100% if all you do is 90mg and its not a year daily habit.
if you can get some kratom, il tell exactly what you need to do for it to be 100% effective.
XANAX/SEROQUEL- If theres no kratom available, these 2 meds will dramatically help you with ALOT of symptoms, and the seroquel will make you sleep 9/10 times.
IMMODIUM- if cant get kratom, benzos,or seroquel, large doses of immodium will help alot, for a small habit, it could eliminate all WDs.
WEED- helps some people, if your not a pot smoker id suggest against smoking weed, but if you smoke then maybe a little weed here and there could help alot.
HOT BATHS are one of the best things you can do while withdrawing, ive gotten sick probably over 100 times and baths always work.
Tylenol, aleve, phenibut, tons of gatorade, porn, netflix, and uplifting music. Trying to stay active is KEY, its hard and for the first day or two dont push yourself, but if you feel you can get out and walk or just do something it will help, even though it seems impossible when your in bed sick as hell.

so basically dont expect the worst, ive been there exactly is your shoes, same amount, and its really MORE MENTAL than anything, just keep telling yourself you will make it through, stay positive, and have people you can trust and lave around you. I wouldnt have your cell phone on while being sick, or block all numbers that go along with drugs in anyway, honestly you should be lucky that it didnt get further in the longer and more the worst it is. If you have any questions im here to help, i know EVERYTHING x 10 about this stuff. GOOD LUCK and remember in 7 days youll basically have your life back, but after that you need to follow up with therapy and group meetings, take it slow one day at a time, but eventually seeking help to STAY clean is the best thing you can do.

4th day, but I used a small amount today, was puking nonstop for hours, was getting serioisly dehydrated, couldnt swallow tablets. So i needed a little break from it. Out of cash now so its just take what comes, i got plenty of benzos, and a few gabapentin so as long as I'm able to swallow I'll get through. How you holding up?

all three of you! I wish you luck. I'm at over a year clean now, and I feel much better....a little strange at times, but much better.

I can't stress the support network, and groups enough in early recovery.

good luck almost 2 years clean here u need to stick with that shit or else it'll be a life time of dope sick and falling of the wagon. H is relentless but u are stronger. praying for you

Me too, how you holding up, what are you using to get by? how long into are you?

take it from me, dope sick for the rest of your life aint worth it . 11 yrs opiate addiction. i know what i'm talking about but get through it. the mind is more powerful than any of this shit i tell you life is better with out that demon in your ear ruining your marriage and taking your kids. pushed all my family and loved ones away. clean almost 2 years now wish it was sooner but maybe i can right all the wrongs now. keep your head up. stay hydrated. stay busy. watch some stand up laughing helped me. i know your not gonna wanna eat but you need it you're hitting the weakest moment of your life. soup helped me stay full and kept the chills away. doing it alone it bad but trust me i did it around my wife and that was even more damaging. get some air when u regain ur strength. i've done it more than any fingers and toes i have and each time is the same, w.d does not get any fucking better. if you're gonna do it, dont go back do not do it. it's not living. @zebedee79 using small dosages to help is not helping you ween of this shit. tylenol and zquil. sleep what you can off. my prayers are with you guys. the devil is real

indeed my friend. 15yrs using with a year break when I had my son, and a year after inpatient and outpatient rehab.I say 15 years even though I used from 15-32 and im 33 now. It doesn't ever get better unless you actually work on healing yourself.

Welcome to Blue Light Joseph!
Great decision. We also have good threads in TDS, sober living, etc and you might find a good spot for recovery.
The symptons described above can be a little different from person to person.

You will probably go though withdrawals, but maybe not as intense as if you were coming off heroin or from a longer period of use.
Nevertheless, I suggest you seek for medical advice if things get too intense. Besides it's one way to obtain due prescribed medications that may become necessary.
Wish you luck and success!
Erik

Remember these few things my friend:

×When your trying to sleep and you feel your skin trying to crawl away from you, warm up the shower, as hot as you can stand. Literally just sit in the shower with your eyes closed, letting the HOT water run all over you. The super hot temp will numb your skin- so stay in for maybe 10-15 minutes, more if wanted. When you get out, dry off quickly and go straight to bed n clear your mind. You'll be out for a little bit at least.

×Immodium !
Believe it or not, loperamide (immodium) is actually a very strong opiate, equivalent if not stronger than morphine i believe. But unfortunately it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier :( anyway, take about 15 of them and it will actually ease alot of withdrawal symptoms. Google it

×Kratom
I back up this herb 110%, so much in fact after my experiences with it i opened a small business directed towards this plant. Its a miracle herb. Kratom can be your withdrawal-aid, pain killer, or new replacement for your opiates, So be careful. This will alleviate a lot of your symptoms, boost your mood, amongst other things.

×Will Power
What i always seemed to lack. I've got it beat now tho, I'm still addicted to opiates, have been for 10 years, but these last 3 years i haven't been sick once, and there's bunch of times were I've had to go without. Anyway I've rambled enough, i hope this helps, good luck bro.

Oh, ps...
Take vitamins, drink juices and water. Eat fruits.
