Opioids help me kick a 160 mg methadone habit with the drugs I have

Please do not listen to this poster, asides from the going to the clinic. Going to the ER will do absolutely nothing if you live in the states. I went cold turkey from 100mg of methadone when I was 17. It was hell, but certainly not impossible. You should be able to kick on your own with that much bupe.

when I first read his post I thought he was refuring to the in between stage from going to methadone to suboxin stage. I've used h a few years ago and I trully agree that w/d from h is way easyer cuz of the time span so when he wrote that I wasn't sure what he was tryin to get at but was willing to hear him out cuz I hold faith in all my bl famaly... I'm not some dumb fuckin kid that's gonna go running out and just jumping on h just cuz some dude says it... Thanx tho

How much suboxone a day are you taking? I would go down to 2mg's and quit, or work on keeping your dose low for as long as possible. Then when you get down to your last suboxone, just break it into smaller and smaller pieces.

Anythings better then quiting methadone cold turkey, so at least your in for suboxone withdrawal now which is alot better, but can still suck.

Right, buprenorphine withdrawal also sucks so why quit at 2mg if one can taper down to 0.5mg (cutting the 8mg pill further may be difficult)? Buprenorphine cumulates in the body as methadone does so I imagine withdrawal from 2mg as a few weeks of feeling ill with terrible mood. I couldn't function like that.

I was just saying aim to get down to 2mg's. Then start breaking the pill into little pebbles. And I agree, it's not fun to function like that, and it's pretty difficult.

forgive me for answering things that were most likely answered but I dont have the time to read through the whole thread now.

Honestly the most useful things you have are the suboxone and the diazapam but as far as the present goes the only thing you can safely use is the valium. I wouldn't touch the suboxone for at least five days. At that high dosage of methadone, I would probably aim for a week and a half if I could take the pain. That shit (methadone) stays and builds up in your system for a long time. I can not imagine how horrible the precipitated w/d would be from that kind of methadone habit.

anyway use the valium and the serequel and just try to knock yourself out once you start the withdrawal. don't waste them by taking them on the first two or three days, because more than likely you really wont be even near the peak of your withdrawal yet. When I kicked 100 mg of methadone, it took about 4 days before I felt uncomfortable, and then after about 7 was when things started to get real shitty.

If I were you I would also leave the amphetamine alone too. There's really no easy way to do this. GOod luck.

He's already on Suboxone. Actually I find out that even if it's 2 days in most cases one can switch from methadone to buprenorphine even though not all methadone is out of system. Buprenorphine may not fully work at this point but it helps and later it works better. Although I didn't experience it myself, I've seen people being switched from methadone to Suboxone in hospital (and at low doses, e.g. 40mg, while in hospital conditions people are sometimes instantly switched like one day they take 40mg methadone, the following day they are given 2mg Suboxone).

At this point there is no point in using Valium or Seroquel in addition to Suboxone. Any stimulants during withdrawal are definitely a bad idea in my opinion. I remember I once did coke while some longer time passed after my last shot and I felt shitty. They increase anxiety and that's what drives people crazy on withdrawal. Too much anxiety.

ok, like i said at the time i wasn't able to read the whole thing, my bad.

in that case I agree, just stick to the suboxone. You don't want to risk another addiction with the valium, and seroquel is pretty shitty for sleep in my oppinion, many people including myself react negatively to that medication (dystonic reaction, weird nightmares, restlessness).

Glad to hear you went with suboxene. Stick with the plan man that's what it's all about. Of course while getting off make sure to try to stay away from people and places that remind you or causing jonesing to get high. Good luck and keep us updated

...Methadone has a long half life and takes a while to come out of your body...

Methadone has a 24 half life. So if, say, you took 50 mg one day, the next day you'd still had 25mg in you.


PERSONAL OBSERVATION: Methadone is hard to kick, that's for sure. It does permeate your system, your bones even (gah,)

I just got WHIPPED down from 170mg a day to 50mg in a couple of months by this crazy pain clinic that at 50mg switched me to 25mcgh Fentanyl patch. I was in AGONY and cried for 4 days straight until I could see my primary, whom I was lucky to see as I had caused a big scene there a week prior when the clinic had my head all scribbly inside....but he put me back on 80mg and all was well. Thank God.

So I started using methadone (from a clinic) about a year ago. My dealer that I've been getting it from has all of the suddin got kicked out of the clinic so now I'm in a tight spot. So I have to just man up and do this cold turky.. Well kinda I have some drugs at my grasp and are as follows seraquil 200mg tabs suboxin 8mg's(i have about 25) and adarall 30s (about 40) also diazapam 5 mg I have about 15.. So what do you guys think I should do?? Thanks in advance

dope depends where you are from but I highly doubt you will even feel bundle shots much... i mean itll prob take a brick a day of GOOD dope to keep you good.

How many grams in a brick and a bundle respectively ? I remember hearing that 1 gram is a bundle in the u.s and a bag is a point.

Depends on the area. For the most part, a bundle is 10 bags. In certain places, it's 12 or 13. Each bag is "supposed" to be .1, making the whole bun equal out to a gram, but again it depends where you get it... heroin is very regional. It's packaged and given different slang terms depending on where you are. NJ for example, the bags are tiny, probably like .04 or something.. in Brooklyn, their closer to .07-.08, in Massachusetts, there are no bags and bundles, it's all G's, half G's and on the West coast it's little balls of tar, or "points", in balloons and shit. So it's all over the place in the US.

I was under the impression this is what one is supposed to do if there is an existing thread rather than opening a new one all the time, for example it makes no sense having a 'Should I Snort Heroin' thread every week, rather that is precisley the reason for the megathreads, am I correct?

It's frowned upon, only in situations like this, where the thread is really old, and is about a specific situation that happened back then, where the whole topic was dead and buried. The poster said "Hang in there buddy, you can do this !I8i", in reply to something 4 years old.. the OP probably doesn't even remember making this thread. Hah. Newer threads have usually been made about the topic, where you don't have to post in one that hasn't had a post in 4 years. It's not against the rules or really even that big of a deal. Plenty of threads that are old and get revived, turn into really great current threads with good discussion, so it's all fine.

But we would rather people post in newer threads then go digging up dead topics from old threads. Technically, old and buried threads like this without a new post in 4 years, should be archived.. but it takes time to go through and archive each individual old thread.

Dude, Ive got a methadone problem too, but I use H during the times I run out of my script before I can get it filled again, but Im not taking as much as you are, plus Im just taking mine orally, I cant imagine the w/ds from shooting methadone, in fact, Ive never known anyone to inject it,I thought it was proven methadone works better if its taken orally...IDK, I could be wrong about that?

I saw your post about going to the hospital, I have went in a few times during really really bad w/ds, one time I tried to commit suicide it was sooo bad, but the hospital will not give you anything to make you feel good, the most they will give you is pheno-barb and maybe lithium, they gave me some stuff that supposedly helped with wds, but it didnt do shit for me...I was still tossing and turning all fucking night, getting up, walking around, trying to lay back down and sleep, then back up 10 minutes later, and on and on...it was fucking hell, I was ready to pull my hair out! And once you go to the hospital, they can hold you, probably in the behavioral wing for 72 hours (at least they can in the state I live).

I decided to go to the hospital cuz i thought they would see how bad my wds were and they would give me some kind of opiate in order to put me at ease, I read one guys account where he went to the ER in bad wds and they gave him liquid methadone to calm him down...they didnt give me shit, except for some damn vitamins and other crap that didnt do anything...I had to suffer same as I would be at home, plus, in the hospital, I couldnt smoke, or go outside, etc. so I actually made it worse for myself!
