Opioids help me kick a 160 mg methadone habit with the drugs I have

I have been using approximately 2mg suboxone intranasal for the past 8 or 9 months and every so often i take a few days vacation from subs and sniff oxymorphone (opana er). I'm kinda impulsive and when I start to tremor and sweat and feel shitty after I run out of oxymorphone I take my sub dose. The last few times I induced a precipitated that seemed pretty awful for like half an hour or 45 min. Anyway, in relevance to this post, how long do precipitated w/ds usually last? I know its relative to the full agonists half life, however I'm just asking for an estimation; how long and how bad can precipitated w/d get? I usually feel unable to sit still, sweat profusely, nad feel awful and I curl up in fetal position waiting, and EVERY time i've passed out once the w/d ceases and i stay asleep and wake up the next day and im ok.

I noticed if I cause a precipitated withdrawal when I sniff my subs theres a bit of a stinging feeling in my nose, and then i start to sneeze really hard rapidly.
 
I would say that you haven`t got enough of the right meds to get off of a 160mg a day habit of Methadone.Methadone has a long half life and takes a while to come out of your body,a smack withdrawal is over in about three days with residual withdrawal lasting a few more,you can double that and some more with Methadone.

I would advise going to see your GP and getting on a programe.You have an antipsychotic drug which is Seroquel,this will help,suboxone will definitely help as the Diazepam,but in my opinion the Amphetamine is a no no whilst trying to detox from opiates.

Seriously dude you need to get proper help,this isn`t something you can do on your own unless you have all the right meds,a whole lot of discipline and a structured plan.

Thanks alot guys for all the info. My best bud who just detoxed off a 1200 mg oxy habit ( in jail ) is going to be at the house incase I flip out and need to go to the hospital and my wife's friend that stays a block away and who is a nurse is also going to be close to help me thro this.. So quess we will see.. Thanks guys for the help... And I will be starting with 0mg of methadone starting the day after christmas so I'll prolly be feeling shitty on monday.. Love blue light.. Man you're fucking nuts, just go to the methadone clinic yourself. Honestly man why would you let your tolerance get that big if you didn't even have a rock solid source for methadone, that's nuts bro i would have been scared this inevitble time was going to come.

Basically you have two options, ride out the coming two months of hell, somehow resisting the strong urge to blow your brains out. Or go secure your own source of methadone, and quit that way. Anyways your totally nuts there's no way i would even attempt to jump off that amount, thats going to be pure agony by day 4.

W/D is very stressful on your body, if you have any underlying health issues w/d can great exaggerate them. Many people have died from complications during intense withdrawals due to have an underlying like say heart problem, and then going into heavy withdrawal and dying. Rare but it happens you know.

Then you have that security of guranteed dose each day, and if you want to quit you can taper yourself down to a much better dose to jump from. Because man jumping from 160mg is just nuts, i wouldn't even attempt it, maybe i'm not a strong as you but me personally i would only feel the withdrawal off 160mg habit 'done if i was forced with a gun to my head...

Ironically im high as fuck on methadone right now...(dosed fair bit of tomorrow dose today lol...)... Good old methadone. Good to be on, hell on earth to get off.

Thanks for your consern and if it gets to bad ill just jump on h for a few days and get into the clinic but i really cant afford it man i have two kids and a wife who is unable to work at the moment and a morgage that needs to get paid so its really just not possible for me.. the guy that i was getting the done from is a best friend and we never seen this coming...and i was getting them dirt CHEAP... and he was giving it to me in the begining to help me get off an h habit and wasnt expecting me to fall in love with done like i did...
 
Hey dude! I'm on methadone and I know that a lot of people at my clinic get it for free because they have kids, no insurance, low income, etc. I pay cash, though. And yes, it's very expensive. Rates just went up to $13.50/day. That's crazy!!!

Anyways, go to the clinic and ask them what public assistance is available to get methadone for free. I agree with 8L4YN3 100%. You are way too deep into methadone to just stick out the w/d's. It's at least 3+ weeks of pure agony. It's kind of messed up to say, but you might want to just do h just for maintenence until you can get something worked out.

To be honest, there's no way I could make it, trying to get off my 150mg/day MMT, cold turkey.

Please, for your own sake, go to a clinic and do whatever it takes to get on MMT. It saved my life and it seems like you were fine until you got cut off. No addict in this country should have to endure this kind of shit. It's tragic.
 
If I read correctly, you said you have a few bottles of methadone left? If so, your first move should be an aggressive taper with what you still have. E.g. if you have 400mg left, do 100mg at day 1, 80 at day 2, 60 at day 3, 50 at day 4, 40 at day 5 etc until you run out. Then wait a couple of days and start on the Suboxone. You'll feel like shit but should get through it.

I'd also suggest you use the Seroquil and Diazepam when you are lowering your methadone dose. You should stabilise when you get on the Suboxone. Other medications that could help are Loperamide and Clonodine (you'll need a prescription for Clonodine).

I have to echo what others have said and suggest that you do this detox with proper medical supervision. It's a massive dose to come down from and not something that should be done cold turkey.
 
You aint going to come off that amount of juice unless you got real good willpower, cas with even those tabs its easy to fall off your daily tapper plan when you start taking one to many tabs each day. you need to get down to at least 40mg of meth a day for at least 3 weeks so your body has chance to get used to that lower dose and get rid of all the eccess methadone in your system. came off 150mg of juice before an i took 3 months dropping down an using subs and that was hard enoth (well no heroin or methadone detox is easy is it?) if you manage to do it and remain off it for at least couple months fair play to you bro cas thats one moutain you got to deal with.
 
Get some Kratom too if you can,it really help when trying to get off of strong opiates,also try some promethazine,it`s an antihistamine that is an OTC med and really helps to potentiate low doses of opiates.

Your gonna have one hell of a time,but hang in there,it is possible to do,even with a really high tolerance.
 
Clonazepam, if you can get hold of these they are the best benzo by miles because of their muscle relaxant quailitys that are very strong and long very lasting. you can never have enoth of them for opiate w/d. try find. if not diazepam works well for sum and zopiclone to help you sleep is another essential if you can get hold of them cas when ya rattling and cant sleep for a couple of weeks just makes the whole thing seem like its never going to end. Dealing with the depression after w/d gone is also a huge hurdle where most fall. stay strong good luck!
 
Only just read part where you said your mate will be there to help. thats real good cas doing all that on your own only doubles the struggle. good move mate hope it works out for ya.
 
I don't believe kicking 160mg of methadone will be done successfully on your own. But then I don't understand how one dose can last you 3 days... especially if you've been using at this level for a year. It has a long half life but that doesn't normaly help with those on a maintenance dose. I strongly agree with all who say... go to the clinic!
 
Dude ,AND I THOUGHT I WAS FUCKED UPI did heroin for a while then legitimate pain mgmt that got out of controll. ALL that was said here is bruteally true, your slamming that DONE is going to kill you whether it's through an absess infection or OD. Now were not Drs. here but have enough experience to know that you got to let the Methd go and get on Suboxone. It
does help w/ all those perifal drugs but 86 the ADERALL and mellow w/the valium. They are also right about waiting until you start to get sick to start the Suboxone. Dude god luck and do not hesitate to go the hospital. The're not cops and generally help. Infraredal
