Alright this is my first post as I'm about 30 min new to bl.I've been a off/on heroin addict for about 8 years and I'm trying to put it away for good this time. At the moment I'm on a 2 month binge and need to kick before I loose my job and wife.ANYWAYS! I don't have the luxury of taking time off work to kick and still have to work which as most people know is near impossible especially in construction. I have a dew different types of minor narcs to help me through this
15 50mlg tramadol
12 10mlg Vicodin
1. 8 mlg suboxon
just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to be successful with this. I know there's gonna be some discomfort
but u figured I would seek advice. I've always just kicked cold turkey and right now that's not an option.

Um, the only way really IMHO is to take time off. I could never kick any hardcore drug without some breathing space. I know that doesn't answer you question but when you can just PM me and we will talk about it and maybe just talking would help a great deal. Be safe my friend.

You don't happen to have any Neurotin/Gabapentin do you? Also, what do you do for a living?

Neurotin/Gabapentin ???? Sounds familiar but not sure what it is.I do new construction plumbing

It is prescribed for nerve pain as well as seizures although it was prescribed to me for anxiety. Has helped me quite a bit during hard times. It's non narcotic.

I am going to have to say that you are going to need to take at least three days off to get through the worst of the withdrawal. After that it gets easier.

After the three days, break the vicodin into two pieces.
take one as you arrive at work. Remember you aren't trying to feel good...your trying to be functional.
taper the vicodin very quickly. you should be through those by your sixth or seventh day.
split the 8mg suboxone into four doses, then split the last two doses in half. then the last dose in half. that is your taper schedule.

The suboxone will mitigate the worst of whatever withdrawal symptoms you have. The biggest thing I have to say here is that you will always need to pay the piper when it comes to opiates. You cannot get off scott free, only make it a little easier.

The easy part is the cessation of use, the hard part is staying not using. Find a support group. Get your family on your side. Maybe hit some AA or NA meetings. Even if you don't want to be indoctrinated into their way of life, they have been where you are, and can give you the love and understanding you need to stay quit.
