SWIM has multiple missed shots (of china white heroin) on her arm and a swollen hand from a missed shot on top of her hand. SWIM has gotten some keflex from a friend and is wondering if it is okay to take them to prevent an infection that could turn ugly. SWIM's hand has been fucked up for about 3 days and it has been improving slowly, it is less swollen and has much more movement in the fingers than on day one. please help because of SWIM's situation going to the doctor is a last resort option.

Hi hun, so sorry to hear of your desperate situation! I'm gonna switch this over to Other Drugs stat so you can get some helpful advice. That forum covers harm reduction related to heroin and other drugs.... hence the name, they'll be able to answer your question more quickly.

We don't use SWIM here, and it is against the rules. Please edit your post and use proper pronouns.

Usage of "SWIM", "SWIY" and other similar acronyms does nothing to protect you legally, and makes your posts hard to read.

Alright I think they got it now that we don't use swim, so let's try to answer their question instead of just posting not to use swim.

I recommend seeing a doctor, as much as it may be a last resort kind of thing. You won't get in trouble for telling them the truth, and they will give you a better answer than we can from over the computer.

If it's the wrong kind of antibiotic for the situation, then it can do more harm then good by making your body more resistant to antibiotics, making them less effective when you need them. Whenever circulation of limbs becomes an issue, you should really see a doctor. 3 days is kind of a long time for it to take to slightly improve.

Taking antibiotics that aren't prescribed to you when you have an infection is perfectly okay. But you'll need to take them for 7-10 days straight or more, just as if they were prescribed.

Keep the area clean and dry, use hot compresses in intervals, and please do not be afraid to go to a doctor if the infection is not improving. Hospitals shouldn't be a "last resort" IMO.

^ What do you mean? Didn't you say that you got it from a friend?
