I will not bore you with my long story, will try to cut it down. For reason's of stupid ness i got myself in a meth.clinic befrore i lost eveything that i have accomphised in 91/2 years sober. For reason's that i have a mental dieseas and very bad anixity i am on .25mg benzo's.I believe that i should be on meth for awhile 4 years already, benzo's for 11/2 years.Meth clinics don't like or except people into a long time meth program. Please a littel help on what to do.Should i try to quit benzo's.Detox off meth that they would only let me do is killing me. Please somebody does have an answer.

Benzo withdrawal is more dangerous than methadone withdrawal.

If you have to pick one, I would say to detox off on the methadone first. After you get back to feeling "normal", then try to taper off of the benzos using a long acting benzo such as valium.

I am not sure if I answered your question, as it is unclear to me what exactly you are asking.

Im sry but I really am having a hard time reading the OP. I tried my best to understand what you were typing and the best I came out with was that you were on benzos because of certain medical issues and you wanted to go onto methadone maintanence but they wont let you because you are on benzos and you are wondering what you should do. Is that right?

If so.....I really dont know why they wouldnt accept you because of a small benzo prescription. (you are prescribed the benzos right?). I think that is completely rediculous for a methadone clinic to deny help to someone simply because they need to take another med. If I am right in what I thought you said....then my advice to you would be to say fuck those people and go to another methadone clinic because why would you want to go to a clinic that treats people like that?
And if there is no other clinic, then I would look into getting on suboxone. Thats what I did and it pulled me out of a MASSIVE 4-5 yr heroin addiction right before I would of either been dead or in prison.
Good Luck.

I slao had a hard time understanding what was said but i will agree that benzo withdrawl is at least to me the hardest thing i have ever gone threw.
I quit crack and coke cold turkey also quite meth cold turkey and accept for the absolute cravings for the drugs physically i was okay with the WD just extremely wanting the drugs bad again.
But once i got threw that with alittle help from smokin pot once again(i had quite for about 5 years) i was fine and still ahavent touched meth or crck since.
But if i dare to go off my benzos ferget it i cant go a day well lets say 2 days without sumthin to help.
I just try to stick to what im perscribed even though i always abuse to a dergree i wont let myself completely run out even if i have to take less because i was stupid and abused them abit....
Good luck and btw Ya what ^^^^^said...

Yes it was i little difficult to read .bottom line I'm on a meth. detox at 35mg right know from 190mg,and also on zanax .5mg for mental issues.I guess i'm saying detox off meth. first, because i will have the zanex for help, then if i want to come off the benzo's i can.I fucked it up but you guys did figure it out,and had the same answers.First time on site seems really cool.Been off chat rooms for lot of years because it got me in a lot of trouble, flying all over the states meeting people. thanks again just really confused thats all was sober for 16 years,1995 to 2005 than tried oxy's for month shot myself in a meth clinic in2005 now detoxing.

I concur with what tommy said.

I would be very careful in tapering off methadone if you choose to taper off of that first.

Sorry thats 10 years.I will get use to these boards again lol

Just so you know....if you want to add sometihng to your last post(or correct something), you can click the "edit" button thats at the bottom right of your post, and then add the info you wanted and then click "submit"....that way you dont get a bunch of posts from the same person all in a row. The moderators try to keep people from posting multiple times in a row so im just tryin to give you a tip.

It happens to us all, but yes, it is most ideal to use the edit button to prevent more than one post in a row. Sometimes, it's easy to break up information over multiple posts, such as the beginning of a Mega Thread. However this is a rare occasion where it's done.
