My roommate ingested about 1.5 grams of black tar over the period of 4 hours. It has been 2 hours since he ingested anything- and he wants to just sleep now.? He took 5 mg ambien about 1.5 hours ago as well as H doesn't out him to sleep. He usually smokes .7-1.5 g when he does so nothing out if typical dose range. I spoke with poison control and they said it sounds like everything is going in the right direction. Should I let him go to sleep or no?

He smoked the heroin, correct? If so I would say hes achieved peak plasma levels already and if anything they are starting to fall, so sleeping should be safe. I can not comment on how Ambien will effect breathing rate when used with heroin but generally speaking after 4 hours if ingested in a fashion like smoking or shooting hes not going to get any "higher" from it and the risk of death should be minimal. If he wants to sleep and your awake just monitor him for a little and make sure hes breathing. I am not a medical professional though I have slept hours after shooting up a decent dose, if that qualifies me.

Yeah he only smokes 1-3x a week. But when he does he likes to go for a heavy nod lol. I'm going to have to slap him he kept me up until like. 5:30 am it is now 9am, luckily I have the day off so I can go back to sleep . Thank you for the advice!
Mixing H with benzos is NEVER a good idea,especially if youre a part time user with low tolerance.
Although i have to admit that all these years i have seen crazy stuff happening and ridiculous amounts of both drugs being mixed and abused by lots of ppl(including me) and more times than not,everyone got out alive.

But yes CNS depressant nonetheless and its not ideal to mix them. Anyways OP you're a good guy for looking out for him like this, he should appreciate it
