Help! Having trouble getting clean.

So I have been addicted to heroin for 8 years. I want more than anything to be clean and tried many different options.

So a little about myself: I have bad anxiety and depression. Recently, my bf died from a staph infection that got into his bloodstream and caused a heart attack. We were together for almost 8 years. So it's been very hard dealing with his passing. I went to my local social detox two times and had a major panic attacks each time and ended up leaving around 14 hours. I then went through the local out patient place in my town. They prescribed clonidine for anxiety, 2 days worth of subutex, then I'm supposed to switch to my prescription of suboxone. I just can't make it to 24 hours. I end up totally panicking around 14-16 hours and end up using.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can make it to the 20-24 hour period of time so I can start the subs?

Has anyone ever done the rapid anesthesia drug detox? I know it is very expensive and am willing to take out a loan to pay for it. I just don't know much about it.

Any advice on how you did it would be wonderful. I hope I have posted this in the correct section. This is my first time posting...thanks.

24 hrs is tough mentally, but really the first step. Do you have any comfort meds? Detox sucks especially in a facility. Rather do it at home. At least I have what I need close. God the smell kills me, I get a heightened awareness of all smells especially sweat and onions and anything nasty. Washed my dog and sheets already. I'm sweating like crazy with cold chills and far as subs they never helped me accept for setting up for a relapse. God I stink

I have an old script for klonopins. But the place I get the subs from said I will be kicked out of the program if I test positive for any benzos. But I'm starting to think that will be the only way for me to get through the panic attacks.

Hey Rachela, Here are some medications for detox.

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE< >here<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Your Personal Opiate Withdrawal Arsenal

Do you have anyone who could hang with you for 24 hours and help you through this?

I have a guy who I am kinda in a relationship with, but he is not someone who I could be with and support me. He is extremely jealous of what I do for work (massages out of my home) and makes mean, nasty comments to me every day. He wants me to get clean, but isn't supportive. I've told him that the comments he makes to me will be a trigger once I get clean, but won't stop.

I have a girlfriend who also wants to get clean, and I have suggested to her that we get a hotel room with a Jacuzzi, sauna, and workout room and do it together.

Now I know this may sound off, but I am terrified of mixing any drugs. I don't even take ibuprofen while using. So are the medications you listed able to be taken with the subs?

No the list was not designed towards that end.

Its a list of medication that has a good chance at treating the symptoms of opiate withdrawl.

Professional medical advice about combining medications is the best route.

I offered these as areas you may explore with whoever you decide.

I hope you figure your situation out:)

I would also suggest seeking medical help for your withdrawals. You can do it outpatient - you don't necessarily have to check yourself into a detox facility.

Also, it sounds like an important part of your recovery will be extricating yourself from this toxic relationship. Using or not, you shouldn't have to tolerate abuse.

Yea, I know that this relationship is not good. I have told him that he needs to stop and once I get clean; I will not be able to handle his mean, jealous behavior. I know it will be a trigger.

I have another question...I have done so much research on the difference between suboxone and subutex. I thought you can take subutex sooner because it does not have the blocker in it, but then I read that people took it too soon and went into precipitated withdrawal. Does anyone here actually tried the subutex? Did you have to wait the 24+ hours? Or did you take it sooner?

The naltrexone is not what causes precipitated withdrawal so subutex will not work sooner. 24 hours is just a rough estimate. As soon as you are in withdrawal you can start taking the suboxone. My advice is to start with 1mg under the tongue. Wait an hour after that if there is not a bad reaction take 2mg under the tongue and wait another hour. At that point you can take the rest of the prescribed dose. I have never had a problem with precipitated withdrawal using this method and I jumped from heroin to suboxone way too many times.
