Please inform me if there are any tried and true ways to ease and aid in opiate detox?

Be sure to read in Other Drugs; there are a lot of resources there to help out.

I would look into a short term detox with methadone or Suboxone personally.

If that's not an option, then something like benzos/BP meds will help.
