ok, somebody who knows that i'm not into harder-type drugs included a tiny baggy of white powder with my birthday card. at first i was whoo-hooing assuming it was pure MDMA. but, after using my (well over a year old) ez-test it was obvious that the random substance was not E. the reaction i got when testing was nothing with a little bit, but with more it fizzed/bubbled and was slightly brownish in color.

the person who donated this to me is out of the country for another week or two and i have no way of asking wtf this shit is. right now i'm assuming it's coke, even though the sender knows i don't do coke, and i guess i'm going to leave it alone till i can get an id on it.

DXM will react like that although it tends to go a grey color.
I've tested Dexamphetamine before which went brownish but no fizzing,I've also tested Methamphetamine(ice not powder)that fizzed and went dirty orange although i can see how that could be mistaken for brown.

To sum it up....fucked if i know8(

I'd bet on some kind of speed-like substance. Sources for Marquis reactions with cocaine differ, so I don't really trust them, but none say brown.

No, DXM will specifically produce a SMOKE. Many chemicals fizz with a reagent test, as they can react quite violently to the acid contained within.

How much was a little bit, and how much was a lot? (In terms of the amounts you tested...)

OH! I've just noticed that your EZ Test is over a year old... what sort of conditions have you kept it in? It's quite possible that your EZ Test has past it's life, and will not give you accurate test results. Try a new one. :)
