Hello. Recovered addict here. Drugs of choice were shooting coke, GHB and Benzos (Xanax preferably). On a heavy pharmaceutical regimen though (non mind-altering except GABA drugs). No benzos though. I've worked the 12 steps and God has lifted the obsession for me to want to use. I'm just interested in learning about pharmy's. I have lots of experience with pharmy's and like what I see written here. Thanks guys :D

the story has happened before where someone in their younger days was a drug abuser/addict, but then turns that into a legitimate career in research or human services.

welcome to the board, i hope things keep going well for you :) a GABAergic habit can be tough to break. if you have any questions about anything lemme know man.
 
Recovery is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I have to work a solid 12-step program every single day. I have a sponsor, I have commitments, I sponsor a guy, I pray and meditate every morning. I do a nightly review at night. I read my AA big book, go to meetings, etc... I tell ya... it's quite the process. However, I was a death stage junkie so if I relapse again, I probably won't make it back to the rooms. It's do or die time for me. FML!!!
