Just simply introducing myself and wanted to say a little for you all to get to know me a bit , first off the biggest reason I joined is I am a heroin addict and I was told this was a good place to learn anything I needed about not just my DOC but all the others as well as a good social place to just chat with ppl when FB is not doing it =D I at this point need to quit , I have already learned a lot and I seek more info as well as support from ppl that have done this . I dont really know what to expect personally as I have noticed there is no such thing as a "cookie cutter" withdrawal . so anyone who is willing to offer advice or even just kind words I am open and very interested in what you have to say. Back to my reason for this post , I am not an average person by any means , from my job to hobbies to lifestyle it all is very eclectic . I love to make new friends and I love to learn, that is the very simplified version , if anyone has questions answers or anything positive to say I welcome you to do so , great meeting you all ( well sort of ) and I am looking forward to becoming well known in this community

BE SAFE!!

Hey, welcome to BL :)
You're welcome to PM me once you reach 50 posts and become a Bluelighter.
Heroin is also my DOC and I'm happy to give you harm reduction information as well as info on tapering/WDs. I'm currently on methadone also, which is a good route as well as bupe if cold turkey or a taper from heroin is not a good option.

Got addicted to Heroin in '68, and it's been a long, long, long road to 2013.

Got off and back on so may times I can't begin to remember - best way off (for me) is a maintenance program (Bupe or Methadone). Bupe has been the best as I experience significant euphoria with Methadone...and THAT is exactly what I don't need. That being said, Bupe isn't always the best option - much easier to inject.

If you decide to consider a maintenance program, give each option careful and serious review and talk to a well experienced and rational addiction Dr. before making a decision.

Welcome to BL!

Welcome to BL!

If you have good drugs to ease your withdrawal, while tapering slowly your doc, detox ain't such a bitch...

A nice and slow taper is the way to do it, but it's better to use another opiate than unreliable street H to accomplish that (methadone, bupe or even better imo, kratom).

My method was to VERY slowly decrease my dose only ONCE a week, on Mondays. And I would use some clonidine, pregabalin, antihistamines and DXM on the 3 first days of my taper (mon-tue-wed).

I swear that if you stick to your plan with discipline, you almost won't feel a thing.

It's absolutely feasible. Just have a good tapering plan and stick to it.

Good luck and let us know what happens! :)
