I am a very new member to bluelight who began occasionally lurking a year ago. I'm ultimately here to make an informed (and I hope safe) foray in the culture and to socially network with the other members. I have particular interest in cocaine and heroin, but I am still building my knowledge-base.

I am unsure of the guidelines I should follow in order not incriminate myself. I know such acronyms as SWIM are discouraged, but any advice is welcomed. Is anybody on here concerned about the NSA?

For what it's worth, I am an aspiring academic who studies society, culture, and structure with specific interests in consumer culture with a historical-dialectical materialist lens. I enjoy so-called classical music (orchestral, especially brooding Russian music: hello, Rachmaninoff), opera, public radio (This American Life), exploring in the kitchen, good movies, and social activism.

Please read the BLUA (bluelight rules, they are there to protect you as a member, as well as the site).

As for not incriminating yourself, a moderator is best to talk to you about that. I would imagine basic common sense like don't go trying to source / sell drugs on here or claiming that you are selling drugs, don't go putting your full name and address on here; that kind of thing? You are allowed to talk about using drugs like cocaine and what-not. It is a harm reduction site.

Also in different sections / sub-forums there individual rules may differ to one another again for common-sense reasons. For instance, in the recovery room, no glorification of drug use as it can be triggering, but of course drug use is fine in the focus forum and other associated drug forums, Sorry if I'm not making sense.
