hello I'm obv new and need some help

My Dr is prescribing me suboxone 10 MG a day and she just wrote a prescription for morphine sulphate 15 MG I can take 1 every 8 hours I want to know if I can maybe iv it and not go into withdrawals I'm not sure if I should be talking about this so help lol?

Your doctor has prescribed you suboxone, yea? - an opiate blocker. And morphine, which is a opiate?

brunette92, this will not work. Please do not think I am trying to be mean in any way here but suboxone is to block opiates - so opiate-based painkillers will not work in killing the pain for you.

There are many non-opiate based painkillers that you can use - and they do not always come in tablet form. You can get naproxen but with that, I think you have to take with food because it can cause stomach issues. There are different creams. (hang on will pop upstairs and find mine to give as an example, be right back (brb).... back, movelate, that was a cream I was given when I had pain in my neck due to looking at computer for too long...)

As for IV, there is a sub-forum, known as Other Drugs. There, all sorts of drugs, including opiates are discussed.

If you are already taking the suboxone, then you can take opiates. Basically, if the buprenorphine (one of the active ingredients in suboxone) is already in your system, then you can take opiates over it.

I do not think the route of administration would affect it.

Actually, I know this from personal experience.

Still all the same I wonder why a doctor would prescribe opiates and suboxone at the same time. It just seems counter productive in my opinion.

Would you mind telling us why your doctor decided to give you suboxone and morphine? It is a bit unorthodox in the medical community to say the least.

But nope, you won't go into wd's from taking the morphine if the suboxone is already in your system. I am not sure how much of a buzz you will get as suboxone does block opiates from getting you high to some degree and well, I really cannot say it's a good idea to shoot up anything or to abuse your medication, especially if you got the suboxone to get off of opiates and that is what it is usually prescribed for..

But all the same if you do it, you won't get precipitated wd's and that was your question.

Still, if you got the suboxone to get off drugs, it would be a bad idea to start slamming morphine.

I am not the lifestyle police, so I really do not care what you do, but I will say this: please do not ever IV suboxone. It will really mess up your veins fast basically making them hard and rendering them useless very fast. Also, I do not think you would really even catch a buzz from it.
