I've been on the site a year today. And that's due to the harm reduction information, well informed knowledge about substance use, the recovery section which is highly supportive along with the number of social- based sub-forum / threads where discussions are both substance-based n non substance-based. People here are friends with good sense of humour.
On the sticky-thread of this sub-forum, New Member Introductions (NMI), there are two sticky-threads, which may be of interest to you; social thread where lots of members chat, chill out, have a laugh n share lots of information over a numerous range of sibjects, and the Adoption sticky-thread where basically current members of the site (Bluelighters) offer to "adopt" new members n help them settle into site, whether this is by PM exchanges helping out with creating profile or what-not.
