Hello,
I am a 41 year old female. Currently a college student at UWF studying Anthropology. I'm also a photographer and writer for a local magazine where I live.
I first became acquainted with drug culture as a teenager. I smoked a lot of weed but then moved onto coke in my 20's. Unfortunately for me that led to crack abuse, from which I am now clean. In my 30's I was introduced to pain killers after a car wreck. The chiropractor said the natural curve in my neck was gone and I'd pretty much go downhill the rest of my life.
2 weeks ago I was at the gym, pumped up on some Somatomax (which they sell at the gym) and was lifting weights. Apparently I did too much because I went home and took a nap, woke up and was in writhing pain. Three days later I was in the ER and they didn't do anything but give me Naproxin and Robaxin. Another few days passed and I got worse so I went back to the ER and the doc gave me steroids (prednisone) to take for six days. At the end of six days I was much worse. Finally, today I couldn't take it anymore. So, I went back to the ER and explained that I was numb and tingly in my thumb and couldn't feel my arm (and was dropping things) so they sent me to get an MRI. The MRI confirmed what they (and I) already knew....that I had not just one, but two herniated discs at C4 and C5. So they gave me an IV of dilaudid, which helped for about 20 minutes and I was back in pain again. I was sent home with Lortab and Robaxin and more steroids. I have morphine for backup. Mostly I don't get pain relief but I'm a little more stimulated.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here. Hope to get to know everyone better.
