This is my first post, so I would like to say hello :\
I found this forum in effort to educate myself further. My son has major drug problem (it's been going on for quite a while, so I am pretty well informed, but sometimes I need to talk to someone who's not going to tell me that he's the worst type of individual on the planet. As most moms do, I love my son and know he is someplace inside of that shell of deciet, lies, theft, ect. He's withdrawn into a completely different world, a world that has made him able to become able to shut the things in life that once meant the world to him. Drugs have taken him from me (yes I know, I'm speaking to in metaphors!)...he's not a bad person, but he has bad problem, REALLY bad problems.(I believe if your kid has problems, then they're your problems too).
Not sure if I need to post in a different forum, since this is the "introduction forum"?.
I would greatly appreciate if someone could direct me to the proper place that I should be posting

Welcome to Bluelight! This was the right place to post your introduction, but for support with your situation I think your best bet would be the

Sober Living sub forum. There are some great people there who focus on recovery from drug addiction. I understand having addiction in the family, as it runs in mine. I'm an addict/alcoholic(not currently using drugs every day but still dabbling), my mother is an alcoholic(currently in recovery sober off her last relapse which happened after she had almost two years), and I have cousins and uncles who have struggled with addiction and even a great grandmother who died of alcoholism.

Has your son ever tried rehab? It sounds like you're talking about opioids, which can be very hard to stay off without alot of support and such.

Welcome to the site and I'm sorry to hear that your having problems with addiction in the family.

I know that people often think 'Drugs or addict' and sort of shut off or think 'it's your own fault' so they can be pretty brutal with their comments. You may still find people on the site that have a hard stance with addicts but overall the community is much more understand as a lot of experienced it first hand.

Sober living is a great place to start - have a read of a few of the threads and either join in the conversation or make your own post, get whatever you need to say off your chest and see where it leads.
