Hello aq.!

I was doing a search on Lyrica at my pain clinic docs office after he suggested I take it with my Oxycodone to help me sleep. I tried Ambien,Xanax and a few other meds prescribed for insomia but none have helped so far and he also said it may help with the nerve damage from my second open heart surgery. Also have a 34 year love affair with opiates... I'm just taking what the doc prescribes for the past year and a half but past use was really heavy and I'm sure it contributed to my heart failure.
Born and raised right here in Texas but looking to sell everything and move to a remote part of Montana or Idaho.

Once again thank you all for having me...lots of good info here!

Open heart surgery- oh wow. That is rough. My uncle underwent open heart surgery and he had a long recovery time and was in a ton of pain. I was in an auto accident in 2012 when i was 20 (a drunk driver hit me in a rear end collision) and I have 2 herniated discs as a result. I'm in constant pain from it, so I can definitely relate to being in constant pain. I was prescribed opiates too, which I immediately fell in love with. I was clean for a while, but recently discovered poppy seed tea, which surprisingly helps, but obviously you can get addicted to it since the body metabolizes it into morphine.

I tried Lyrica but it made me a bit.... crazy. I was wired and hallucinated and it basically threw me into a manic state. Not fun. If that works for you + the oxycodone then that's great...only obstacle is obviously addiction.

What attracts you to moving up north? I'm from New England, born and raised, and I've always wanted to move out west or way up north to Maine because of the peace and solitude that it would bring to me.

Dang sorry to hear the drunk driver hit you and jacked up your back...that sucks! Hopefully you sued him/her and got your PIP from your insurance company.
Yeah this is my second OHS plus I've had back problems (slipped discs, arthritis), rotator cuff surgery and a few other issues... At 50 years old (next month) I feel like I'm 90 but its all good. What can I do except deal with it lol...I'll update if the Lyrica helps,I hope it does as I like to sleep sometimes! :)
As far as moving I'm hoping to get away from the southern invasion plus the liberals moving to Texas, yup I'm a right winger. :)
And of course the heat is killing me. I owned my own semi and trucked the lower 48 for 23 years until a accident ended my career. I fell in love with the beauty of the northwest and met some good peeps up there. Nobody living to close to ya' and people stay out of your business. I like that! What part of the northeast you living in? Some parts are really beautiful, I enjoyed Vermont a lot, New Hampshire was pretty nice to, hell even parts of New York are nice once you get out of the city. Spent some time in Watertown,NY back in the early 1990's when I was trucking up there and got stranded at a small truck stop... Met a few locals and had a blast...crazy times and good memories for sure!

really hope it works for you! it is tolerated well by a lot of people, so hopefully you get some relief from it. clonazepam helps me sleep, but doesn't help with the pain obviously.

:( sorry to hear that. that may have also contributed to your back problems. most of my family drives semis and one of my family members had his cdl revoked because he was unable to pass the physical due to a back injury and he was so upset.

i live in rhode island. very small state with a lot of people, but beautiful coastline and scenery, especially in the summer. summers are a blast because of the beaches, etc. it's a whole different culture from summer/spring/fall to winter. everything just gets dark, depressing, and basically comes to a stand still in the winter. i would love to move to vermont or maine, or upstate NY along the Appalachian trail-- i love mountains :)

aq I live near Ft. Hood, Tx. between Austin and Waco.

I've been to R.I. a couple times but its been years. As I remember it didn't take long to drive across :) nice to visit but way to many peeps to close together for me!

yeah, much warmer than RI lol.

it's 11 degrees out right now and snow is expected overnight... hopefully it'll be enough to cancel work? probably not but a girl can dream ;)

PM me if you have any questions!

I was born in new englend. Watertown ct to be exact. Moved to the panhandle of Texas when I was 9 though but I really miss new englend. It's beautiful up there
