Hi Wavey & welcome
I'm from the UK and visited Edmonton a few years ago and stayed with some friends relatives for a few days before heading to the Rockies for a couple of weeks touring in a camper. Lake Louise, Jasper, Columbian ice fields etc etc, I believe it really is Gods Country and I loved every single second of my time spent there. I would love to go back one day.
This may sound silly but, we arrived at a mountain campsite in Jasper and parked the camper up.
I went a walk and sat on the edge of the road just looking at the spectacular view, the sun was setting with the snow capped mountains in the distance, I swear I also heard the distant sound of wolves howling too, and at that moment, and this is the silly thing!! I sat there just trying to take in probably the best scenery that I have ever seen in my whole entire life and thought to myself, if I die right now, I would die very happy! Silly right?!
I have never had that feeling since but I guess I was just absolutely spell bound by the whole scenery, everywhere you looked it was absolutely stunning and I have never seen anything so beautiful since, nor I doubt, ever will again!
Your country is stunning, the people are great, (always wanting to hear my broad UK Derbyshire accent when they found out I was from the UK) for some reason!
We also spent two days in the shopping mall in Edmonton and didn't get to see it all it is that big!! Submarines that take you under water, ice skating, swimming, I've never seen anything like it in my life, it was Sooooo big!
Anyway, I've rambled on lots sorry, I just wanted to let you know what I thought of you're country and how I enjoyed my time spent there.......... welcome to Bluelight
