Hey all,

I live in NC and have several major problems with my back and spine. I joined so I could discuss, participate, help, engage and learn from other members. I was on anti-depressants and mood stabilizers from age 13-25 - I've tried every one under the sun. If anyone has any questions about my experience with those types of drugs I would be happy to help.

I injured my spine severely as a teenager and then I injured it again while working a very stressful and physically demanding job during my mid 20's. I have had dozens of guided live X-ray fluoroscopic steroid injections, tried every non narcotic and narcotic analgesic under the sun. From Celebrex to Tramadol, hydrocodone to oxycodone, fentanyl to dilaudid I have done it all.

Pain is under control now with transdermal fentanyl and an instant release opiate analgesic. I also exercise regularly, watch what I eat, drink tons of water and get a medical massage once a month.

I use a benzodiazepine for anxiety - I've been on it for over 10 years. I'm curious how other pain sufferers who have access to legal bud are responding to medical marijuana - does it work for pain? Anxiety? Does it work well enough to come down or off the opiates? Do you mix them under medical supervision?

Im also curious as to what everyone thinks is going to happen to us pain patients who get their prescriptions from their internist/general practitioner...the DEA is acting like the secret police and ruining the lives of respected pain doctors, legitimate pain patients... And in my opinion overstepping their bounds as a federal agency.

Good to meet everyone! Hope to hear back.

Hi, Good to meet you also! Many folks are getting cut off and turning to street drugs. I'm an x opiate user with chronic pain and have been on most medications as well. I'm glad to hear your pain is under control. There are specific CBD's, THC and THCA strains that do work for anxiety. I personally didn't use marijuana to come off cns depressants though.

I am going to move your post to another forum for more support. Basic Drug Discussion. You might want to look under --- > Cannabis Discussion, and/or The Pain Management Megathread (Chronic and Acute Pain Discussion) v6.

Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions. :)
