Only saw this section so figured i would introduce myself. I am a former heroin/pill addict who has been clean 2 years. Successfully got off methadone last year but went back just before Christmas and stayed on a low dose (24mg) to not go to heroin and will taper soonish.
I am a pothead and smoke daily. I am in my early 40's and didn't get a habbit until my son went away to university. Like most i started after cancer treatment with pills.
I googled methadone tolerance and found this site. Great site btw. Noone i know knows i was ever an addict so its awesome to be able to talk with my kind :)
I hope to meet more of you and get help and support and offer mine to anyone that needs it .

I too am in recovery, and am looking to get a medical marijuana card so that i can get high even though i get randomly drug tested for probation. Weed really is eye opening for me and gives me perspective. Do you find that it does similar things for you? If i were to use i would probably just take one or two good hits then put it down, because i have been dependent on it before, but i'm not telling that to my PCP.

Lol, it does doesn't it. In my experience it heightens whichever emotions you are feeling right before you get stoned.

Yeah it's legal in Massachusetts too but still can get a violation if i test positive for THC -_-
 
I will never understand your country lol. Should have been nationally legal. Odd that 1 state can be legal but the one next to it gets you jail. And don't get me started on the sentences people have gotten there for growing it lol

Feel you on that dude. I am a long time opiate addict myself and everytime I’ve tried to get clean with the only stuff available - suboxone the naloxone sends me into precipitated withdrawal. I’ve waited 48 freaking hours with nothing, withdrawing the worst I’ve ever have and still put me in perc wit. Used that bullshit checklist and everything. I understand it depends on physiology and dependence as well but sometimes I really think methadone is the way to go! Especially for heavier long time users. Anyways, I’ll tackle that when I’m ready to again but here to talk if you need someone!
