I don't think I've actually introduced myself on BL yet...I just kinda wiggled in and sat down (wonderful place I must say).
I am in Canada and my name is Kate. I don't mind sharing my name since anything I say on BL everyone in my life knows anyway. I'm pretty much clean these days anyway.
My drug history started 11 years ago with benzos which caused a shit storm amid another shit storm of depression I was going through. Came out the other end ok a few years ago with some really rough patches since then.
About 4 years ago I started using opioids as well.
I have a lot of psychiatric diagnoses and whenever I was asked over the years why I used the downers I did I simply said "so I can clean my house, go grocery shopping and do other menial things normal people do". They'd never heard that sort of response before and were always confused. Looking back now I was using drugs to do those things because I was so preoccupied with fighting personal demons day in and day out I couldn't think of anything else.
