Hi just joined the site after many months of browsing and enjoying all the info on such a wide range of topics. It's great to have a place where you can get unbiased opinions and information from a wealth of knowledge and experience worldwide.

Any other members from AK out there? What do you think about the state? Best and worst? Any other site selections recommended exclusively dedicated to the 49th state?

I live in southern Finland, but I've never really seen the northern lights. You have to go all the way up to the polar region to see them...
 
Last week there were a couple days that were amazing, even down in south central Alaska. It was like you could almost hear them.

The best, most consistent viewing is between like Fairbanks and the Arctic Circle (about 250 km north). From there if its clear skies you can catch them most often from mid October till April. I swear one night about 50 km east of Fairbanks ( Chena Hot Springs ) you could actually hear them. Luca

Thanks. Yea Alaska has some of the strangest weed laws I've seen. It's legal to have and grow in your home and you can get medical card but there are no dispensaries.
 
Good to meet someone from around the world. I have only been on the west and east coast of America. I would love to travel more especially Alaska! :) <3
