I am a former F15C pilot for the USAF.I was forced to eject out of an F5F that was very inconveniently on fire. I was badly burned on my right leg, from ankle to hip, and have suffered with severe chronic pain ever since. They did 33 skin grafts at BAMC, which made it a leg again, but did not help the pain.

Welcome to Bluelight! I am so sorry that this happened to you but I am definitely glad you are alive to speak of it today. Are you prescribed any long-term pain medications or doing any sort of pain reduction treatment (physical therapy) or what not? Glad you are here to share your story.

There are many here who suffer with chronic pain, whether due to injury or disease. Just look around to find threads you'd like to post in.

Your severe burns seem painful beyond comprehension. I applaud you for not only your military service, but your strength to endure such devastation.

Sorry for the delay, I've been in the hospital for several days with a bad case of cellulitis, Cannablissss.
Yes, I take 3200 mg of Gabapentin daily, 120 mg/day (60 q 12) of Zohydro ER, 2 x Norco (10/325) every 4 hours, and 60 mg q 12 Cymbalta. No maintenance antibiotics, but I'm on IV Vanc for a week or so every 3-4 weeks, as that is how often I'm hospitalized.
It isn't nearly as much fun being me as it used to be.

No type of PT is helpful, although it has all been tried. No tech has been helpful (TENS unit, etc) although it has all been tried.

Thank you, everyone. Honestly, this injury, in and of itself, never bothered me too much, until another injury complicated things...now, just as I retire and the kids are grown and my wife and I picture perhaps just traveling or maybe even moving to a Caribbean isle, my health goes kaput. What timing...8)

I broke my back, badly, in an accident in Alaska. 5 years in a wheelchair and/or walker while they- finally- got my back fixed up. But 5 years of steroids did my skin grafted leg no favors at all. Now I suffer from almost constant cellulitis. The universe has a sense of humor, after all! A mean one, but a sense of humor!
