Hello everyone. Thank you for allowing me to join this forum and for creating it!

I am looking for information on various supplements that are useful for increasing norepinephrine.

My husband has been smoking for over 40 years, since he was 12 years old, and he has had a lot of difficulty trying to quit. As a result, he is very discouraged now. He has tried everything - nicotine patch, gum, various prescription medicines including Chantix, which made us both very ill, willpower, etc. I managed to succeed in quitting five years ago after reading Allan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking. He also quit for four months but then started again. When he quits, he gets really "foggy headed" and irritable and his cognitive abilities really suffer. I heard recently about a connection between ADHD and Smoking. It is making a lot of sense. So, I have been researching that. Apparently, cigarettes increase dopamine and norepinephrine levels in people lacking in them, which is the case for many ADHD sufferers.

So, I did get some Mucuna Prureins for the dopamine. But, I am looking for some supplements to increase his norepinephrine levels. Any ideas?

Thank you. Irene

Hi there and welcome to the site,

I'm not sure if this thread is any good for you.

The last 'quitting smoking' thread is here but it seems like they are discussing Ecigs instead of supplements. Maybe you will find some useful information in our Healthy living section or even other drugs forum (please feel free to copy your post in either).
Good luck
