Long time lurker here. Usually I'm happy just reading information and when I have a question, look it up elsewhere. I recently decided that it might be handy to become a member, since this is one of the top sources I reference whenever I start researching any given topic for SWIM.

Short biography...

SWIM discovered drugs relatively late in life (his 20's). He pretty much experimented everything he could get his hands on. His favorites were always cannabis, tryptamines, and occasionally MDMA and dissociatives. Unfortunately his curiosity to "try everything" found him very quickly becoming an IV heroin addict, which lasted (on and off) for about a decade. SWIM decided to seek help from psychedelics, since, though other methods worked (and sometimes worked well), he could never seem to get them to stick in the long-term. So he detoxed himself from opiates using DXM, and followed that up with occasional doses of 1P-LSD, and has managed to stay "sober" ("sober" = from drugs like meth, cocaine/crack, and opiates) about two years now. SWIM can even drink alcohol and smoke cannabis in moderation with no desire whatsoever to go back to the substances that ruined his life or use any substance to excess. Even his severe depression has left him. Honestly, he considers it a miracle to have his life back, and his brain reset.

The remarkable results gained from this self-medication/experiment reminded SWIM that drugs can do good for people, so long as they are treated with respect and used responsibly. He was well aware of the dangers of what he was doing before, but he fell victim to the cockiness of youth. Hopefully, now armed with wisdom that comes with age, he can focus on things that can make his life, and the lives of those around him, better. Nowadays, SWIM is all about the psychedelics, nootropics, and SARMs. He already knows quite a bit about the "classic" psychedelics, but has been reading up on analogues that have been discovered due to them being much easier to obtain. So far it has only been 1P-LSD, but he's looking forward to expanding his experimentation to the aforementioned categories.

Hopefully, using all of the researching I've done in the past, and am doing right now, I can give back to the community here instead of just lurking and taking. Since SWIM is bound and determined to be his own guinea pig/lab rat, he figured he might as well put his data out for others as well. =D

Finally, I'd like to give a big thank you to the Bluelight community and the administrators/moderators who keep it alive for helping my friend for so many years. Had it not been for this board, and the people who frequent it, he may not have survived that decade as a junkie, or ended up with HIV and/or other diseases/health problems. I'm sure his isn't the only life that has been saved because of this community. THANK YOU for that!

Sincerely,

spookyaction

Oops. Read the rules wrong. I remembered the terms being mentioned, DIDN'T remember the "not" part that preceded it. 😬 Let's just pretend I was really referring to somebody NOT myself this one time. ;-)

@spookyaction - Welcome to Bluelight!!

Hey, as much thanks you give to us, id like to thank you in advanced for having the intention to help others here in this awesome social database.

You seem to have great intentions with drug use as well. Wicked cool, fellow BLer.

Hopefully ill see you around :)

Peace, love, and happy holidays if you celebrate.

Already fit right in... "let's pretend" goes a long way and holds sway with the sultans.
Welcome and howdy. Whatcha doing in regards to family/friends this season? Traveling or staying put? For myself, we are staying put with no visitors... even the fat man will be keeping distant. ;) Also wont be going in with debt and worries about disease when these people quit with their holidays.
Have any furry companions around? There are two felines here; bobo and budah... boy and girl - fixed (hated to but whattaya do?). Never had kids and these two are enough to fret over. Couldn't even imagine chirrens.
Be safe as possible as looking to future posting endeavors. Gotta fulfil da book, yes, no, maybe? lol
Peace

Small get-together with local family is all that's going on for me. The sad fact of the matter is that I don't have a whole lot of friends. About HALF of them have been lost to the fentanyl epidemic, and a significant portion of the rest are still playing russian roulette with it. 😔 Not many are as blessed as I've been to make it out alive and (relatively) unscathed. The only thing I can do is to be there if any of them wants to quit, though I have qualms about suggesting they try it the way I did. Half of me wants to share my miracle and the other half reminds myself that I'm not a doctor, chemist, or biologist and I probably shouldn't act like I am. Other than anecdotal evidence, I'm the only research subject I have, so for all I know it was a fluke. There have been promising studies involving similar substances, but none on the ones I myself have experience with. 🤷‍♂️ Perhaps I'll find an already existing thread, or make one of my own to discuss it with the community.

Not been working a whole lot so not been doing a whole lot of anything. No animal friends here. I've got a hard enough time taking care of myself, let alone little creatures, human or otherwise. 😅 As far as being safe goes, I always try to err on the side of caution. When dealing with chemicals, especially of the research variety, there will always be unknowns involved. Slow and steady wins the race, or so they say. One positive with the COVID-19 lockdowns is plenty of time to try new things. 😏 I've got a good mindset, attitude, and outlook on life and gonna keep it moving forward, only looking back to see how far I've come and keep me headed in the right direction.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'll do my best to not make a fool of myself. 🤪
