Might as well give a little background on who I am, besides just some random dude.

And I'll try to keep it short and sweet... though my life hasn't felt so short thus far.

I was a goody two shoes smarty pants science nerd in my formative years. At 16 I was introduced to Shpongle and Erowid and Shpongle lead me to Terence McKenna. Yet I didn't try anything but alcohol.

I went to university. I drank. I puked. Life was pretty normal. I got decent grades. I suddenly realized my future was going to be dictated by mega-rich corporations even as an engineer, so I dropped out.

Sober, aside from the odd booze here and there, I dropped out SOBER.

So I worked for a while. And then decided heck, this time I'm not passing it on, saying no thanks, and I began my adventures in the green fuzzy mental space at 21. It was quite mind-opening. I was shocked that I'd been turning it down for so many years based on the silly assumption that it would make me dumb.

For several years I'd been listening to Shpongle, so I'd been primed for the psychedelic experience. About a year after cannabis, I was introduced to a big fat bowl of high potency sally.

Ohhhhh boy, did that ever rip a new hole in my universe. I spent weeks being impressed that such an experience was even possible in the human mind. I also spent weeks trying to come up with a way to describe in words what I'd experienced. I'll admit it was a frightening experience, but I'm nothing if not curious.

Having come from the goody two shoes end of the spectrum, I'm still somewhat conservative and cautious so my experience has been limited. In the 5 years since trying cannabis, I have:

a) smoked s. divinorum a handful of times
b) tried mushrooms 3 times
c) tried MDMA a few times
d) tried ketamine a few times

And some time in the next month or so I'll be trying to visit the machine elves, not really expecting machine elves but expecting to be blown away nonetheless.

I also spent some time doing lucid dreaming, but it's kind of hard to do when you're a chronic pot smoker. But damn, dreams were intense psychedelic experiences for that period of time. Every night, several STRANGE adventures in vivid detail. For free. Without being scared shitless. Was a pretty neat deal.

I've started reading organic chemistry so I'll understand those crazy little diagrams... Not as complicated as I imagined they were.

So here I am, at age 26, aspiring to be a western shaman of the 3rd millenium(edit: not REALLY, just sort of interested in learning their methods and then I'll get bored of all the mumbo jumbo that goes along with it), relatively inexperienced, excited to continue growing in this brave new world where barriers are breaking down and open-mindedness seems to be increasing.

To conclude my self-introduction, I've been reading bluelight forums out of curiosity for some time now. There's so much information to be found from so many people on so many subtopics of my favourite curiosity of all. And there's so much to learn...
