Hello blogs

Well I'd written a sort of mini-essay a few weeks ago, but turns out I saved it in drafts so it was never published. It doesn't fit the state of mind I'm in now though, so oh well. Maybe I'll 'release it' in the next few days.
But right now it's 1 am, I got back from the gym not long ago and I've been writing a philosophy paper for the past couple of hours, so I can't come up with much. Which is why it's time to indulge in my favorite time-killer, ie. SURVEY TIME

Since I usually do whatever survey a BL Blogger has posted;

1) Do I still talk to my first love? I don't believe I have ever been in love.

2) 1st alcoholic drink? Drops of grape wine at 8 days of age with opium when I was circumcised. As a Jew from a traditional home I have had alcohol all through childhood. First time I really drank? Age 16, in Lebanon. I got very sick and after a couple of more times I never drank again.

3) My 1st job? Soldier, age 16

4) 1st car? Still have never owned 1. Just use inlaws in Mindanao, military or one of my kids in Israel and mass transit in New York.

5) 1st to text me today? Mariz, my lover

6) 1st person I thought of this morning? Lovely, an ex

7) 1st grade teacher? Yisroel Stern

8 ) 1st ride on plane? A couple of months old, NYC to Israel

9) My 1st best friend? I would say my first true friendship was age 16, 5 squadmates:

Do I still talk to them? 2 are dead, the other 3, I talk to 2 and they are closer to me than anyone ever was or will be. The third is missing after emigrating abroad. I reckon he needs to forget it all.

10) Where was 1st sleepover? At one of my hundreds of cousins in Brooklyn.

11) 1st I talked to today? In person? 1 of my brothers. On the phone? Mariz called.

12) 1st wedding I was in? Jews don't have weddings like Westerners, no ushers, best man, etc. So, my own to 1st wife, age 17.

13) 1st thing I did today? Said my prayers upon waking, HaMod'ani

14) 1st concert? Public Image Ltd in Tel Aviv, age 16

15) 1st broken bone? My jaws, age 17, still hurts like hell

16) 1st piercing? Never had any

17) 1st foreign country I visited? I am dual American/Israeli so it would be Lebanon, age 16 in 1983, unfortunately. I will get to the rest later.

 

OK, the rest...

18 ) 1st movie? It was at age 16, "Hawaii 2" by Michner? I saw it on TV, didn't know how I'd lived without a TV hahaha

19) 1st detention? I went to religious Jewish schools, you get whipped, there is no detention. First time I got whipped was age 11 for skipping school.

20) 1st roommate? When I came to Israel I lived in a huge dorm, never had a roommate though unless you count a cousin when I finished my degree in US. His name is Matityahu.

21) Did I marry 1st who asked me or whom I asked? My first marriage was an Arranged Marriage with a cousin, never met her until the day we married. I was 17 she was almost 15. Come to think of it, never asked Rizza either, it just happened after so many years, so never asked and never been asked...though I have had a couple of girls' fathers ask me to marry, including Mariz.

22) 1st sport I was involved in? Football (not like in US, "soccer")

23) 1st lessons I took? Haftorah, it is a supplemental reading done in synagouges each Saturday, when you get a Bar Mitzvah you have to read one. It is chanted and there is a system of marks that cue how it should be chanted. That was when I was 12. Other than that, Euphonium (bass baritone horn), my brigade in the army was/is famous for having the best brass band in the IDF so at age 14 when I knew I was being given to that brigade I began taking lessons, they made me. Haven't touched it since I was in my 20s, no melody, like a giant burp.

24) 1st thing I do when I get home? Change into comfortable clothes for the house, like Mr. Rogers!

A) Age? 46 in 2 weeks

B) Bed size? Single

C) Favourite Chinese Food? Moo Shu Beef or Venison Hunan Style but it is very difficult to find.

D) Dentist Name? In US, Dr. Appolonius, in Israel, Dr. Ben Ami (my brother), in Philippines, I don't have a regular one because they are butchers, I try to wait until I'm abroad or if I must I head to Bangkok.

E) Early Bird or Night Owl? Usually early bird but here in NY I must be a night owl to communicate with Philippines and Israel.

F) Favourite Colour? Teal

G) Gold or Silver? Neither, platinum but if I must choose 24 karat gold, soft like butter and a great investment.

H) Height? 173cm

I) Ink? Left arm bicep, left hand fingers and wrist, military for all

J) Job Title: Retired, used to be "Seren," meaning "Company Commander" though many say "Captain." My civilian title was "Union Excavator." I like "Retired" better haha.

K) Kitchen Meal or Resturant Meal? A resturant meal eaten in my kitchen haha, I hate sitting in resturants.

L) Living Arrangements? Currently in NY, living at a family owned flat. In Israel own my home, as I do in the Philippines, and I sublet a studio in the Philippines as well for when I'm in Manila.

M) Month of Birth? February

N) Nickname? Raki, Jonny (Westerners have a hard timr pronouncing Rachamim Ra'anan Ben Ami).

O) On Time or Late? Always very, very early.

P) Pet Peeve? People in crowds that walk the wrong way, walk as you drive. People who use umbrellas and have them just over the top of their heads so that they stab everyone around them. Household cleaning linquids that have very bright colours and nice smells, it is as if they actually aim to kill kids, hypocrites and several other. I fear I am becoming a cranky old man hahaha.

Q) Quote From a Movie? I don't have any.

R) Right or Left Handed? Right.

S) Siblings? 8 brothers and 2 sisters.

T) Time I awaken? At 6PM unless it is Monday, Thursday or Friday, the days I pick up my methadone, then I have to wake at 4PM though lately- as I did today- I wake at 10AM.

U) Urgent Task I Need to Do? Get a root canal.
