Hello. I have narcolepsy and started on dexadrine about a month ago. During that time the dex. has almost quit working. I have to take large doses, yes, by my Psych's orders. When I first started taking dex. it worked great, but even then after it only lasted a very short time. A timeline is like this: I take the dex., starts working in 40 minutes, lasts for 2 hours and then suddenly drops off. :( All at once. So it never has lasted as long as it should. Looking for some help to, maybe find out a reason. I have also tried adderall. I get the exact same effects. :( I'm not sure if this was the right place to start posting this, so if someone might point me in the right direction as to what forum to go to. Thanks in advance!

There are a few tools I am going to suggest to help you find the answers you are looking for. The BLUA & Greenlighter's Guide are a must to becoming not only a valuable contributor and member of the community,but they will help you get the answers you seek quicker than waiting on others to do so for you. ;) Bluelight is a wealth of information and there are plenty of threads that address the issues you seek answers for and in using the Bluelight search engine located at the top of every page just below the log out function,will pinpoint threads of interest.
For now I suggest you check out both Basic Drug Discussion as well as Other Drugs. you can also use the search engine while in these specific forums to find the info you need.

The absolute same thing happens to me, 3-4 hours after I take dexedrine IR, it's stimulation completely drops down to nothing.
