Hey. Came to bluelight in a fairly distressed state and posted and recieved some helpful advise. Came back and was going to pose another question, was reviewing the rules and came across some old sticky posts about greenlighters always breaking the rules, then they leave and dont come back and it's ruining it for all those that are here regularly. The comments were pretty offensive and I can see why people don't come back. Allot of us come with questions and in my case was so out of it and so desperate and this forum can be hard to follow when you first come on. So speaking as a newbie greenlighter, we don't come meaning to violate rules or ruin things, just need a chance to get used to how things work. The comments I saw were very old but just saying..we come wanting to feel welcome, not feel like fools.

Not all green lighters are discriminated against or painted with the same brush. It's more the quality of the posts that's important. And, yes, that means grew lighters do break more rules, cross post, hijack threads, use SWIM excessively, etc. If you don't, you have nothing to worry about.
the only ones preoccupied with green lighter status are green lighters. We were all there once.

Hi and welcome :)

Yes the problem is that most people don't read the rules when they join, so it can be a bit of a mess.

If you see a post that breaks the rules make sure to use the report function (the sign button at the right of the post date) so you can help keep the forum clean and organized.

I've lurked on this site since 2004, but never made an account. I've seen what you described, for years. Some people frankly just sound miserable, and enjoy venting on the new guy. Misery loves company. Try to just ignore the mean-spirited. Everyone makes mistakes at some point, no need to be ugly to anyone for accidently breaking a rule.
