MICKEY FINN

URBAN TAKEOVER-UK
Legend. Considered Top 3 jungle/dnb DJ's off all time.
Question: Who knows when he actually performed at an event in the Seattle area?
Mickey started DJing in the late eighties and became well known with the advent of the Acid House movement in South London. He was given the name Mickey Finn because of his build by mates and friends in the scene. In the early nineties breakbeat and loose jungle techno was filling his record boxes as he travelled the length and breadth oh the UK. Such was the demand for his skills at this time by huge events all around the country he was even strarting to catch private planes between gigs. Mickey's production talents started off with Biting Back - She's Breaking Up then partnered Gavin and Claudio for Urban Shakedown - Some Justice. Now in the late nineties Mickey travels the world and throws down his vibe in countries like Japan, USA, Australia, Holland, Ibiza, Germany, Finland, Israel and France to name just a few.
Being at the helm of the UK drum and bass phenomenon means his record bags are full of the most upfront dubplates and latest releases from producers all around the world. Check out a Mickey Finn Interview and a Mickey Finn Special Dubplate.

enferno_profile2.jpg

2003 U.S. DMC CHAMPION, IX BATTLE CHAMPION & 2ND PLACE RUNNER-UP IN THE WORLD DMC BATTLE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2003 has been the year of Enferno, being named DMC/Technics US Champion Aug. 16 in Washington DC, DJ Enferno was named World Runner Up September 13, 2003 at the Brixton Academy in London. 12 years of djing and his love for music and turntablism has led him to 7 US Finals. These achievements have been made possible by years of working crowds and the momentum from other titles like NYC Braggin Rites, 2003 ImportXpressions Battle Champion and the opportunity to participate in the Allies Invitational.

He is one of the new breed of turntablists coming out of the shadows of former DMC & ITF champions such as Qbert, Babu, Roc Raida, Melo-D, and Shorkut just to name a few. After over a decade of party-rocking he is coming into his own, bringing it to the next level and making history.

FRANKIE BONES-EastMusicGroup-NY

Legend and #1 Techno DJneed we say more?he will rip it!

DJ MICRO
CAFFEINE / MOONSHINE / AT LARGE | NYC | www.djmicro.com
Internationally acclaimed as one of the US's premiere dance music producers and remixers, there are few artists who can match DJ Micro's credentials. Playing alongside East coast DJs Frankie Bones, Adam X, James Christian, and Onionz, Micro put the New York underground on the global dance map with his energetic fusion of styles which is described by URB as "... spiced with rippling acid melodies and plenty of surging drumrolls." With over thirteen years behind the turntables, Micro's versatility and ability to whip dancefloors into a frenzy with his smooth mixes and superb sense of groove has made him a dance music sensation.
As a natural progression from his success as a DJ, Micro joined with Vicious Vic under the pseudonym 'Progression' to produce a series of hugely successful remixes and original works. The duo became overnight heroes in the international dance scene following the release of their massive debut single 'Reach Further' which became an instant club smash. The increasingly sought after duo were soon commissioned to remix artists from Paradise 3001 and Joe T. Vanelli to Masters at Work, as well as a wickedly groovy remix of the Dado's 'X Files' theme. In 1996, Progression's first album 'Progress Into Our Future' on Sorted Records received an overwhelming response and was described by Mixmag as "seamlessly mixed and a hardcore good time."
Micro has produced a number of widely acclaimed mixed CDs including 'Coast to Coast,' (ESP-SUN), 'Micro Tech Mix' , 'Micro Tech Mix version 2.0', 'Techmix 2000', djmixed.com/micro, and Techmix Live (Moonshine). Micro’s applauded remixing skills are exemplified by his remixes of “Sandwiches”- Detroit Grand Pubas (Jive), “Pass It On” – Keoki (Moonshine), “If Only” – Trinity Hi Fi (TVT), and “Drowning” – Cleveland Lounge (Moonshine).
HE MADE 'CAFFEINE' RECORDS A HOUSEHOLD NAME -HIS CREATION.
There is no easy way to sum up a dance music phenomenon such as New York's DJ Micro. This acclaimed DJ, remixer, producer, and label founder once described by URB as the "techno maestro" and by XLR8TR as "unleashing a groove too thick to mention" never fails to conjure an ecstatic night of pumping progressive sounds on the dancefloor.
Presenting one of the worlds finest dance music talents... MICRO.

JON THE DENTIST-UK

CHRIS ANDERSON
CHRIS ANDERSON // Chemistry Records // Free Records

all we have to say is"50,000 WATTS OF FUNK"

His unique production style and his thirst for hard funky beats, has him well on his way to making a serious mark in the underground scene. His tracks are played by the worlds top DJs, like DJ Dan, Carl Cox, Terry Mullan and many more. In the early '90s Chris teamed up with Andrei Morant to produce tracks for Labworks, Germany, as well as thier own releases. Both Phreak 3 and The Syndicate - "Thud" received international attention, with Thud being played by Billy Nasty on BBC radio. Chris has tried to push the envelope both in producing and DJing. He created the floor-destroying remix of "50,000 Watts" (Blubba Boy, Caffeine & E-Traxx UK), which has been hammered by lots of the world's top jocks, including Carl Cox, DJ Dan, Judge Jules, and countless others, as well as getting played three times in the main room at the 2000 Cyberfest. "50,000 Watts" and his track "Rolling Bass" (Free Records) were recently featured on Carl Cox's latest Moonshine mix CD "Mixed Live v2". His track "Overdose" on Catalyst was featured on Donald Glaude's "Off the Hook" CD on Moonshine, and Scott Henry's "Buzz" CD on Ultra, as well as getting hammered all over the world.

OH SHIT!!!

Alright, kids, you betta start gettin ready for this one!! This is what a massive is about! I can't freakin wait for this!!!

^^^
i'll take an amen to that.
HM2 was a travesty. the only reason it was fun was because i was off my fuckin pickle. that and i was there with my awesome friends. we spent more time at the locals stage than at any of the headliners. oh well, looks like at least they learned their lesson and didn't book DJ Irene for this one :p

Props to GZ!

Only one of 2 companies left bringing us huge events! I've seen every GZ party get bigger and better. hM-2 was pretty good, Splash! was amazing. Now we'll see what hM-3 has in store. And ate the Tacoma-Dome. About time somebody used the greatestt indoor venue in the Northwest! Did you know: The Tacoma Dome is the biggest wooden structure in the world?
Can't wait to hear about more announcements. Not that this line-up isn't good enough already. But there's always room for more!

i find it sort of odd that a greenlighter makes his first post in a GZ event thread when the only posts on it are bashing them.
why are we bashing them? because their events are shoddy. granted, splash was great from all i've heard, good friend went and said it rocked, so i'll take her word for it. but every other GZ event i've been to in the last year has been mediocre at best. my wall is covered with fliers from bad ass parties i've been to. and would you like to know how many of them are GZ parties?
one
and its a HM2 poster, just because it looks neat. i did have a good time, but i stand by my previous statement of travesty.
so bollocks to the lot of ye!

Nimble - let us respond to the positives

Everybody seemed to agree that SPLASH! was by far our best event. Well, it takes time in anything to accomplish things at a better level. As a company, we are barely 2 years old. We did our first event at the end of Dec.01 So if we need time to evolve like any individual, product or company than so be it. If anybody can do better in less than 2 years and accomplish more - than good for them. We appreciate anybody and everybody's positive feedback and understanding that putting on large events is an art not quite as simple as it may seem and we are certainly doing our part of learning and trying to improve different aspects of composing a solid event.

iunno, i guess i'm just bitter. because honestly hm2 was kind of a letdown. but then splash was good, and ariel was pretty nifty too. but i think the reason for that (this doesn't apply to splash cuz it was huge) was that it was a smaller party. i honestly thing the day of the massive in seattle is over. people are paranoid about the RAVE act, you all saw what happened at Cyberfest this year. i'd be stoked if the scene went lower key. if any of you have ever been to the spot, you know what a tiny sweatbox it is, but i've had some good times there, mostly because it was a smaller, more intimate place.
thats just me though. i'll probably be at HM3 just to see whats up, so we'll see i guess.

Funny thing is we actually owned the Spot from Oct.'02-May'03. We enjoyed that place due to the 'cozyness' as well but unfortunately it was too difficult dealing with the landlord-lady. We're actually looking for a cozy place like that again...

While Hedonist masquerade was... intersting, I can't really bash it because of all the things that went wrong, I did have fun. And I am sure it will be a little better organized this year then it was last year.

Maybe I will come to this party. If ... I get a free ticket. Just kidding, kind of. I payed for myself, once and again twice because I left my friggin' ticket at home with no time to go get it again. Sigh. I should have been a VIP for all the money that i spent.

Who knows I will see what happens because I have heard that the events are getting better.

I'm thinking this could probably make up for my missing Freak Night due to circumstances beyond my control.

this threads getting an official drama warning.. keep it up and i will have to start issuing individual warnings to those who cant keep it civil. thanks guys.

Kandebruthafly's right.
Maybe I've been an asshole to Groundzeroevents.com.
(Now and in the past.)
If people have fun at a GZ party I guess that's all that matters.

It's a very nice PROJECTED line up.
I hope it goes off without a hitch.

i wish i could find micro, danny tha wildchild, an frankie bones on tha same lineup sumwhere a lil closer to tha midwest....id be there if it wasnt a 3-day drive
