Well I was talking about North Philly, SW, and W Philly. Of course it's different in the NE, Chestnut Hill, and Center City (etc).

EN: I was never alluding to whether being one race is better than another, just saying that white people get profiled too. As for the soup kitchen/social worker thing, that doesn't work. They ask for ID right off the bat, and they know all of the social services around. I mean, who's gonna believe that you're just there offering some Campbell's soup to the corner dealers? :!

'medicine cabinet': We do have very few cameras. One could have been used to solve a murder that happened in the vicinity. But, it was disconnected! The company that manages them said that they were "hacked" into so they shut them off. Of course they didn't tell the police. Just shows you who's actually watching them!

The next mayor(Nutter) wants cameras pretty much everywhere. They plan on making them all wifi so the cops could connect to any camera from their laptops and see what's going on.

But, like everyone knows, they'll just displace the dealing/crime.

I'm in the burbs of Chicago, the cops here are kinda shitty, as an example I got stopped for riding my bike after dark without LIGHTS on the front and back, I was like what the hell I have refelctors on back and front and on my tires. She let me go but made me walk my bike and cruised past me twice on my way home.. goes to shows they don't have much to do.

In chicago we used to get hassled for being white but me and my friends stopped going to the dirty ghetto a long time ago.. they got those flashing blue light cameras all over in Chicago too..

Yeah, the Chi can be a nasty place as far as cops are concerned. I've had cops plant my friend's bud on me, beat me, threaten my family, etc. But I don't need to go to the ghetto for my smack, so that cuts out a large amount of risk. Basically, if you're white, in a car, in the ghetto, anywhere other than a main thoroughfare and sometimes even there, you'll be pulled over. That's not to say it's impossible to cop here, as it is certainly possible.

They can be nice though too. Case in point, I was in a car with this girl driving and a dude in the back seat, and we had like, an ungodly amount of dope in the car. Not dicksizing, but just to give an idea, less than a grand worth, but not by much. We pulled out the parking lot where we made the deal IN FRONT of a regular (non narc) cop car, and then the dumb bitch in the driver's seat RAN A RED LIGHT! I just about died. But they just looked at our IDs, went to their car, and then came back and told us to get the hell out of the ghetto posthaste and they followed us out of the west side, and then turned back.

Now, that was a long time ago, and that amongst other things was what cured me of my fascination with being a businessman. I think that descision to stop that lifestyle saved my life, quite honestly. Now I just worry about my own habit, and my bud supply, and I'm quite happy like this. Luckily my dope dealer is in a white neighborhood like me, though they aren't white, and so the heat isn't really ever brought down on the hood over there so hard.

Long post, but yeah, cops in the Chi are a mixed bag, and they are everpresent and in large numbers, but manageable if you are smart and keep your wits about you.
 
Hmm what can i say it depends on the city you're in here.. Im in ohio more central then anything.. and around here the cops always change... You could be driving for 2 minutes and pass through 3 different counties. All the cops are different, some are asshole some arent. It just depends on the day... But if you don't look suspect or nothin you should be all gravy with the 50..

In my neighborhood though.. You can do whatever you want.. Up to fighting in the middle of the street and no one would even think to call the cops.
 
Definitely a large presence, with a psychotic number of undercover cars (in one drive of 20 miles I saw an undercover camaro, viper, dodge ram 1500, pt cruiser, and suburban). The cops here aren't to dickish though, they let my boy off with a warning when he had 2 ounces of herb and paraphernalia.

yeah, but you have to remember that cops up around here sometimes have very little to do besides hassle people for kicks. i think part of it is that i'm not a stupid punk kid anymore.

now, if i walked a few blocks into bensalem walking around drunk would have 85 overzealous town watch assholes calling the cops because i was walking down their street and they never saw me before.

You're right though, I'm sure a typical NE cop's day is quite tame when compared to their North Philly peers. I've only had one encounter with NE cops, and that was when I was going to middle school there and got caught cutting class at Franklin Mills.
 
cameras on the street lights and complex buildings. not to mention the insane amount of undercover cars. I'd say for every regular marked patrol car they're are at least 2-3 undercover cars. just look at their license plates. never the car.

The town where I live doesn't even have a police department, so it's cool for most people. I'm a special case, the KBI (state version of FBI) seems to think I'm doing all sorts of crazy shit.
 
The cops here (SFPD) are generally cool. But when, the dealers bring the heat on themselves (by killing each other) they can get nasty real quick.

The cops here don't give a fuck about weed. Just hard drugs and then only when they have a reason to ie murders or the like.
