i always hear things backwards on lsd any one had this? like people talking on tv, radio and music is in reverse and sounds like alien gibberish then it slows down and speeds up and lasts for 10 hours after the trip even? also any one ever feel hands touching them in the dark 8o

Interesting effect, but not unheard of (no pun intended) happening with psychedelics. The N-Propyl substituted tryptamines eg DiPT, MiPT, 5-MeO-DiPT, are particularly associated with this. DiPT produces almost entirely auditory effects with little to no visual effects suggesting a different receptor is at play. Perhaps LSD stays bound to that receptor longer than it does to 5HT2A meaning the auditory effects continue after the visual effects subside.

Tactile sensations like what you described are not an uncommon effect of psychedelics

This is not restricted to hearing: once on LSD and nitrous for about 5 minutes I saw and heard everything happening in reverse while still seeming able to behave consistently within this scene. For that to happen touch with reality has to be significantly dislodged.

I think it's safe to say it's not the length of time of receptor binding because that happens at an extremely short timescale and because I don't think you can correlate binding time with subjective temporal experience. My opinion is that it's better to consider the source of the experience as a function of information streaming via connected brain circuits that normally show a certain coherence. From studies we have discovered that drugs like MDMA or psychedelics can disrupt this coherence (picked up that bit of info at the Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Research recently). One might argue that for something to be heard in reverse, information apparently is processed at a timing unexpected by the usual way short term memory functions. Of course this last bit is just a theory like yours but I think that is a way to approach it.

Considering that such effects are not restricted to auditory effects, what happens must be a more central part of information processing where all sensory input flows together and according to how this input is constellated we experience a certain narrative.

well all i can say is its fucking amazing trippy shit i get it much more when i mix mdma and lsd and theres just a big spiral of color and i can control how fast its moving with my mind some how and it slows down time and sound too lol

This can happen on LSD and other hallucinogens. Someone I know once saw time go backwards while on mushrooms but it did not last that long.

i've only ever had this sort of thing happen once, when i really broke through hard smoking salvia. also, the lyrics that i heard were totally different from those actually on the record!! i remember being confused but i did not want to restart the track, for fear of ending the world. lol. that stuff is intense. on the whole, i found the experience profound.

i notice people saying their sentences backwards.... when i first started tripping i thought it was my head because i didn't do it, but no apparently the good old brain goes in revers for some people. xx

that reminds me the first time i did lsd 2 tabs my left arm felt like my right arm and my right arm felt like my left arm was pretty bizzar and i had extreme vertigo couldnt even tell which way gravity was going so i was laying on the floor haha :D bloody reverse alright

had time standing still and even going backwards while on psilocybin and n2o. I guess there's just so much information available to consciousness during such states that the brain can't decide which to analyze first. working memory seems to be hugely inflated...
this mechanism ime also leads to phenomena like the feeling of being able to control inanimate objects or animals; the perception of time and order of events is just so massively distorted...
