well peeps, I got a Q for yall opiate heads....

Do you think there is any difference in your hearing after using for a extended period of time?

It seems like my shit is goin downhill but i dont know if its in my head....Its scarin the fuck outta me:|

I get random ringing in my ears, and "Wooshing" you know like when you listen inside a sea shell, but i get that randomly sometimes. ill just be sittin around and then "HSHHHHHHHHHHH" in my ear for a minute and then it eventually fades away.

Sometimes it feels like there is alot of pressure on my ears or like im underwater or somethin, and in general when its cold or damp out and alot of pressure changes in the atmosphere it makes my ears feel painful or sensitive and just in general shit like that.

back when i use to use shit occasionally the day after id always feel kinda outta it and not hear as good, like i was in a bubble or somethin, and while i was high i definately got that muffled feeling that it seems like everyone gets on op's.

but now it seems like i gotta strain to hear shit sometimes and I dont wanna think it could be because of this but for some reason my head is tellin me they are related...Did anyone ever get this before, I looked up and it seems like there aint necessarily a link between oxycodone use and hearing loss but one for hydro, whichi dont fuck with...Still im curious...Hit me with any knowledge or personal experiences yall got....

I been peepin' the threads at the bottom of the page so that helped a lil bit, but damn, i almost rather have it be from OC"s then i would know it was stoppable....:(

thats shits crazy, i just looked at all the threads on hearing loss too, thats alot fuck i hope i dont lose my hearing from smoking weed ;0

go to docs and ask them to syringe your ears then see if it goes away. wax builds up in everyones ears over time, might have just reached a point where its affecting your hearing noticeably, not uncommon.

You sure it's not from extended loud music listening or something else?

i get that wooshing too, but ive had it for a while and i dont use opiates. its sometimes a sign of low blood pressure.

and does it happen when your'e swallowing?

"It's like the world is in a ball of glass and you're rubbing up against it like a bad windshield wiper"

I get this too, but it's only while I'm under the influence.

I think it may be from opiates lowering your blood pressure?

Yeah, I have trouble hearing on strong opiates, too. Don't know why though. I just get it, too.

DEIFNATELY sure about that....I love shit real loud but i like to keep it just below a level where it hurts and i like shit less louder than many peeps i know, maybe cuz i know my ears be more sensitive to that shit and will hurt from it sometimes. i like to let the music take over but i was never one of them kids that listens to their headphones/TV/stereo at mad high volume all the time for just chillin, know what im sayin. i actually been pretty concsious of takin care of my hearing so far.

What about you dude, im sure you listen to alot louder shit than me with all the metal shows u been to, And i know what shit u mess with, Do you notice any changes....

EDIT:

My blood presure when i AINT on opiates is 80/60....So yea definately got that low BP...And yea snorting is involved....To answer everyone else's questions

When I take opiates, I get a "muffled" sound to my hearing. Sometimes it is accompanied by a mild ringing sound. I have always found it to be a neutral side-effect of opiate use, like the itching. I have never had any permanant effects, and only use opiates every once and awhile.

i get it sometimes when im high, its kinda like a little woooosh feeling. my hearing goes dull but returns to normal when i come down. i think its just a side effect of the opiates

There are several studies which show very stong evidence that abuse of vicodin can permanently damage hearing. I'm not sure if it's the acetaminophen or if it's the hydrocodone itself. I get dulled hearing while high on any opiate, but if you are having problems well after the dose has worn off, you should see a doctor.

I dont use Vicodin at all, or any hydrocodone, and like a few times a Yr Percocets. I only fuck with OC's n methadones....So iunno

I remember when I first started using oxys, I'd wake up in the morning with what felt like I was completely clear-headed and my hearing was more acute. This was probably a honeymoon period kind of thing, because I definitely don't feel this way anymore.

Sometimes if I, or others snort too hard, it creats an odd sinus condition (temporary) that sounds weird and feels like pressure, is that anything similar?
