Health care system and narcotic drugs

I have wondered if the health care system would be better without the existence of narcotic drugs?

I mean, whenever you go to the doctor to complain about pain or anxiety - they wonder if you are just trying to scam opioids or benzos from them.

What do you think?

Opioids and benzos are considered some of the most valuable medications ever invented by science. Surgery would not be fun without them.
