Been snorting subutex the past 3 days about 1 a day and its the third day and im feeling nausea and have a dull headache. Couldd the subutex cause this?

I've never gotten headaches from that but I did get a bad nosebleed. I use just about every other route but honestly with subutex disolving it in a few drops of vodka and taking it sublingually is best in my opinion (with the exception of iv,but that I would never advocate it's dangerous). the nausea is fairly common when you swallow or in your case when the drip reaches your stomach.

That's a common one for buprenorphine abuse. Are you opiate tolerant or have you never done many opiates before doing subutex. That plays a huge role in how sick you will get from large doses. 8mgs of bupe snorted is a huge amount of medicine probably more opiate than you've ever taken is being pumped through your whole body no wonder you feel sick. I stick with doses of 0.2mg -1mg to get high on bupe and I've done IV heroin almost a decade. Its powerful stuff if you dose small doses multiple times a day keeping under 2mgs then you can get pretty dam high on bupe it becomes a full agonist this way instead of only a partial one like it is in high doses. It gives it a chance to convert to nor bupe in the brain and give you a rush than just plain bupe.

Are you non-opiate tolerant? I take it you're just using this to get high and don't do opiates very often?

Well, headache and nausea are common side effects from any opiate, be it buprenorphine or a full agonist opiate like oxycodone or something, in non-tolerant people. Those side effects are especially pronounced if you're on too high of a dose, and if you are not tolerant to opiates.. 8mg's of bupe is definitely too much.

If youre not a chronic suboxone user and you take it many days in a row at high doses, it'll build up in your body. I'd cut your dose to ~2mg once or twice daily. Most of the "good" effects don't come from bupe anyway, they come from its first order metabolite norbuprenorphine. At lower bupe doses, proportionally more will get converted to the more active full agonist.
