I was on suboxone maintenance for a few months and have recently weened off.. due the pressure it would create in my head. It gives me a strange headache and I noticed taking pseudophedrine helped a bit so did smoking weed, but even then the pressure was still there. I have looked around a bit and couldn't really find anyone else having the same reaction.. so has anyone else experienced this ? (happy to be completely clean off opiates though!)=D

Yes, I get sinus pressure, and headaches alot with class II opiates. Not all the time, but 25% of the time. I too would take pseudophedrine, and a anti inflammatory drug like advil. I get a better anti inflammatory drug called: "Indomethacin" prescribed by my doc, but advil will work too. You can also take a benzo to reliev the pressure ..I use Valium. You can also breath steam, and a sinus rinse will help as well. Hope some of this helps. Cheers :)

I had the same thing happen to me!! I took Ibeprofin and then took very small amounts of either a benzo or a muscle relaxor to calm my nerves. worked very well!!

Well I have to ask the obvious question first-are you snorting your suboxone? If so, that could easily cause the sinus problems/headaches.

If not, I can tell you that headaches are very common from suboxone. Many people (myself included) got headaches from the naloxone in suboxone. When I switched to subutex (which contains only buprenorphine and no naloxone) my headaches went away instantly.

I have been detoxing from methadone and the past couple days since I started taking suboxone I too noticed these "pressure headaches". Not totally convinced it is from the subs, but we'll see after a little longer of being on them. I have read/heard that many do get headaches from the nalaxone in suboxone so it is entirely possible.

Yeah I have never snorted a sub and never plan to, lol. But I also believe its the naloxone. I would have tried to switch to subutex.. which I probably WOULD have abused.. so now I'm Just happy to be off altogether =].

^thats what i was about to say. suboxone used to give me bad headaches and my dr said it was probably from the nalaxone so she switched me to subutex. that was just before i got onto methadone so i wasnt on the subutex long enough to see if it really made a difference or if was really the bupe itself that was doing it.
