Do I know you?
What is your role to me?
What can I take from our exchange?
I think back to our dialogue...
why was it so lifting?
Like a hand that lifted up the blanket of fog covering our city,
you were there with me,
in that clearing.
I know there was more behind your words and mine.
When you told me I was pretty I knew you were dead serious,
no one looks into your eye's and flatters you like that anymore.
Especially a woman to a woman.
You felt humble to me.
Inside was beautiful and far reaching,
your glow spread like a never ending wildfire.
I don't even know if you could feel your power.
You were so subtle, so moving and graceful.
Your eye's,
they were childlike, curious and wild,
unassuming and strong.
You must have been in your mid 20's, I only a 16 yr. old lass,
but equal to you in your standards.
Your words were so simple
so why am I sitting here still baffled by their meaning?
I could look beyond but where am I looking?
I could feel more,
but I don't know what is behind feeling.
I guess I am just stuck with this feeling.
This feeling that all is right,
just because of a stranger;
just because I was THERE;
just because we both seemed to know that there must be more.
More than casual talk,
more than the exchange of names,
and tastes in literature,
more than what we even feel we know of now.

"Yes, usually I do"
"You're a reader, aren't you?"
"Well, I am in a library and uhh, erm, usually..."
"You look like a dreamer."
"Yes, I do like to dream, but I think dreamer's get a bad rap. Sometimes you can dream too much and not do. I like to think that I am a little bit of a dreamer and a little bit of a doer."
"You're very pretty."
(I must look baffled, extremely ready for praising back)
"Thank you, you are beautiful." (my eye's beaming, she shyed her face away)
"What kind of books do you read?"
"I like to read bibliographies and metaphysical sciences."
"Ahh, neat. I like those action, fantasy stories."
"ohhh." (head shaking in agreeance)
