Hazards of LSD

Very interesting read! My grandma told me of times in the 60's, she said she had friends who jumped out of windows because they thought they could fly or that they were god.

Most of the horror stories are pure urban myths. Having said that, my uncle actually did die after jumping out a window on acid in the late 60s. He was, however, suffering from some serious mental health issues and was also suicidal at the time. Whether or not he thought he could fly or just wanted to go out with a smile on his face I couldn't say.

The deaths associated with LSD are really terrible to hear about :(

Wouldn't a correlation be able to be described regarding the effectiveness of psychedelics on various people and the article?

Obviously the effectiveness of a drug could not be held solely responsible to the tags associated with it, but I wonder how much of the effectiveness is governed by it?

Reminds me of Shulgin's "sleeping" pill. I believe a very large majority of American drug users highly underestimate the significance of Shulgin's observations that day.

I don't know whether it's a hazard of LSD. Obviously far more people have killed themselves after breaking up with a girlfriend than ever have after taking LSD. So is hanging yourself a hazard of falling in love?

Seriously? Another thread of this scaremongering? I think DwayneHoover was on to something in the "Permanent Psychosis" thread, "anti-drug propagandists have discovered BL and determined that they resent it, so they decided to come here and tell piles of lies, fill the site with BS"

I don't think it's targeted. OP mentioned StumbleUpon - it appears we've been exposed to the wider internet. We can safely expect more of the uneducated/brainwashed masses turning up on BL, I think.

The people who thought they could fly on acid...Why not just take off from the ground instead of jumping out a window?

Anyway, I'm sure some bad things have happened to people whilst under the influence of LSD, but imo, i think half the the stories are made up.

Um. The article describes how they were invented, so to speak. I find this to be in much support of the drug... dk what you guys are smoking. (hahahaha)

But no, I found the article from StumbleUpon, not this site.

And StumbleUpon is a button you press that takes you to a random website that deals with your interests.

The first time I took LSD in the mid-1990's, I had a fairly crippling nervous breakdown which lasted a good 3 to 6 months, but I got over it. I never thought I could fly though.

Hmm... have you posted to the thread where the 18yo first time LSD user is having lingering problems... he sure seems like he could use your arm around his shoulder. (or he's a troll / anti-drug propagandist, we can't decide.) 'post lsd apathy' i believe is the topic.
