Having my yearly mushroom trip tomorrow! Some questions.

I recently came across 7.2 grams of dried mushrooms, just in time for my once a year mushroom trip I like to have in the summertime.

I plan to eat them in the morning tomorrow, as I've never tripped in the early morning hours of a day, it sounds very interesting.

I will be dosing with 2 other friends, one of which is very experienced with mushrooms, and has taken them 20-30 times and doses reaching 1/2 ounce. My other friend has never tripped before, has had MDMA but is not very phased by it. I myself have taken mushrooms four times now, maximum dose of 3.5grams.

My two main questions here are...

The biggest dampen on my mushrooms trips is the stomach queasiness/pain upon coming up. I've read a couple methods of easing this, none seem to be surefire but are worth a shot. I thought of boiling them in tea would be good, but I don't want my trip to be any less vivid due to making the tea, how does brewing the tea effect the potency of the trip versus simply chewing them to a pulp?

Naturally the tea will speed up the coming of the trip. When I eat these plain (rather quickly) chewing to a pulp, I feel effect in 15-20 minutes and usually by 40-45 minutes I am already deep within the trip. The steep incline tends to throw me off (which is why I prefer LSD as the comeup is very long and smooth). Basically, will making the tea make the road even steeper than that timeline? If anything I want these to kick in slower, yet not give me massive stomach pains.

Finally, with 7.2 grams between 3 people; one very experienced, one experienced, and one never to have a psychedelic before. How could I divide that up nicely? 3.5 grams (what I've had a couple times) is VERY intense and puts me on the brink sometimes.

I hate to sound to analytical and decisive about tripping, I just always want me next experience to be improved upon the last, and make sure everyone has a positive experience!!

both psilocin and psilocybin are nicely soluble in water with a little bit of acid in it. you will extract essentially all the psilocin by simmering it gently for a few minutes. make a tea and add a little lemon juice, and discard the shroomflesh.

Haha, first I thought you were going to ingest 7.2grams alone. That might be a bit too much when only dosing once a year.

I grow my own and although I love them, I'm not a big fan of munching down 50g's of fresh mushrooms.

What I would do is cut them up with a kitchen knife, and then maybe grind them to dust.
That way you can swallow them with ease, just make sure to drink some water with it. Come up is fairly quick (as your stomach doesn't need to break it into smaller pieces), but gradually.

About the dose, I would give the novice 1.2grams. You and your friend can take 3grams. Although that might be a bit too much to react soundly, if something happens to the novice. Maybe start with 2.5grams and dose the 0.5grams after 45minutes ?

Have fun either way !

How much faster is the comeup from tea than throughly and quickly munching them? I just want to make sure the comeup isn't really much faster than normal, because it already is incredibly fast...

I haven't had tea but if you really chew them good, keeping them in your mouth for +/-15minutes, I'd guess there won't be much difference.

Could be that the tea comes up a bit faster and harder since the solution is so readily absorbed. You may want to stagger your tea, drinking it in the course of about 20 minutes instead of gulping it down immediately.

I second the breaking up of the mushrooms before you simmer them, that way not much time is needed for the tea preparation / extraction.

Be careful not to boil the teawater hard, it should be slightly cooler than that.

Very experienced person - 3.5 g
Experienced person - 2.5 g
Inexperienced person - 1.2 g

Chop or cut the mushrooms up. Add 1 oz lemon juice. Use 'almost' boiling water. Add water to mushrooms. Figure about 30 oz. You can add sugar, a teabag or mint to help with the flavour. Let steep for an hour and filter (you can use a tea press or coffee filter). You should end up with about 28 oz liquid that will look very cloudy. Dilute the liquid with whatever type of water/liquid you want to the volume you want (divide it up in 3 appropriate portions and each person gets a water bottle in charge of their own consumption).

You can slug the liquid back as fast as possible if you want a strong/fast come up or you can sip over an extended period of time to get a slower come up.

By the way, tea prepared like this is stable in the fridge over 7 days or much longer when frozen as ice cubes.
