Having legitimately prescribed medication stolen when interstate?

Has anyone ever had this happen? i.e. hotel room broken into on Friday night and your Junistra 64's taken? Is there protocols for hospitals/superclinics dealing with this?

This happened to me a while ago, and I went through withdrawals (had to do CWE on OTC codiene to lessen them) for the weekend until I could contact my regular GP on Monday as I though I'd be written off as a drug seeker as I had no documentation on me to substantiate my story, and the police report you get given doesn't say what items are stolen, just that they have attended what appears to have been a break-in at your hotel room. I mean, not many 25 y/o's (male) are on these meds and for all the hospital doctor would know, I'd faked the break-in just to try and score the pills... or I was just using the real break in to try and score.

However, my GP was really insisting if it happens again to go to the hospital as they would have helped despite the circumstances. :-S

What are your thoughts? What happens if the hospital does label me a drug seeker, do I go on some datatbase and next time my GP asks for authority he gets turned down or something?

Explain the situation to them and that your doctor told you to seek help at a hospital in the even it happens again. If they question you it's up to them to contact your doctor for confirmation and they may tell you to come back at a time they can.
