Haveinf sleep problems

Hey guys im still haveing sleeping problems like im not able to fall alseep at all. and when do fall sleep i sleep 4-6 hours only. That caouses me to be very tired during school. But onces i get home i wide awake till 1-3am. I never took anything yet to help me fall sleep. I need help. Sleeping pills, night time vicks?
 
You could try a mix of these plants (i already suggested in another thread) as your sleep aid before using synthetic pharmaceuticals.

  • Valerian roots - GABA-releaser and reuptake-inhibitor
  • Passiflora - GABAergic and anxiolytic effects (compared with 30mg Oxazepam/d, when there were taken 45 Drops of the extract for 4 Weeks daily.)
  • Hop cones - GABA-RI with sedating effects
  • Melissa - GABA-RI and affects the cholinergic system -> mood lifting, nootropic and enhanced stress resistance
  • Lavender - GABA-Agonist, can be boosted with Melissa

You could mix 100g containing following:


  • Valerian roots - 30g
  • Passiflora - 20g
  • Hop cones - 20g
  • Melissa - 15g
  • Lavender - 15g


  • Valerian roots - 0,9-1,8g
  • Passiflora - 0,6-1,2g
  • Hop cones - 0,6-1,2g
  • Melissa - 0,45-0,9g
  • Lavender - 0,45-0,9g

As i said, use 1 (250ml) - 2 (500ml) Teaspoons (about 3-6g) per cup. You could start with a small cup in the afternoon and a bigger cup in the evening. You have to take it daily for a while to gain the full effects. But even after the first ingestion, it can be effective.

German scientists tested Valerian/Hop. In a sleep-lab they explored, that the sleep quality (length of deep-sleeping..) increases even after the first ingestion. The patients who took something slept better than the placebo-group, where in the first night (without any supplements or medication) it was average the same at both groups.

Use boiling water, cover the cup to store heat for a longer time and wait for 15minutes. To enhance the solubility of active agents it might be useful to add a shot of citric acid at the beginning of the brewing process.

There are also extracts and various mixes of extracts you can buy exactly dosed prescription-free in the pharmacy e.g. But you could also make it by yourself, if you're interested in this topic.


Erythrina Mulungu could also be useful.


I suggest not to take any Benzodiazepines (Diazepam, Lormetazepam..) or Z-Drugs (Zopiclone, Zaleplone..) against insomnia. High risk to get addicted to this sleep aids and they often cause a rebound when stopped. You're too young for a sleep-pills addiction. (One of the worst withdrawals).

Also better stay away from all kinds of Neuroleptics (Antipsychotics) and Antidepressants some doctors prescribe against your kind of problem. I would deny every psychiatric pharmaceutical the doc offers to me if i weren't seriously ill. (Insomnia for weeks with psychosis e.g.)
