Have you ever used Datura or Jimson weed?
I am looking for people who have experience or knowledge using the hallucenogenic plant Datura or Jimson weed (aka Devil's Weed, Thornapple) for an audio project. I would like to record your experience over the telephone. It is an art project.

hey your in luck. I just got from the hospital today. I took some sunday night and still ctaching visuals this morning. Damn do i have an interesting story to tell you. I read all the trip reports on erowid and i damn near think i had the hardest trip out of all of them. let me tell you one thing. When your trippin balls off this stuff and wake up to see wires and tubes going into your body you will fucking freak. The nurses had a hell of a time with me. LOL

Partykid: I'm sorry that happened, but you can't say you weren't warned. We weren't giving you a bunch of B.S. when you brought up the subject a few weeks back on the forum. You should post your experience on Trip Reports or something so other curious people will heed the warnings. Seriously people: DON'T DO DATURA!
pipifront: Could you go more in detail about your project and what you are trying to accomplish by it?
 
that shit(jimsom) is a living nightmare. i took some when i was 17 at my boarding school. it was growing wildly around the campus, jimsom is probably the one and only drugs/substance that would condem as evil and will never touch again.
 
Datura has such a sporatic leaf to leaf dosage of its psychoactive compounds. On one given plant. One leaf could give you a nice buzz. On another plant 1 leaf could kill. Its just has too unpredictable of a dose gram for gram, so I would stay away...There are better more safe things anyway.

I'm aware it is very dangerous, yet am fascinated by it's availability. I wouldn't do it myself. I'm not only looking for positive experiences. people don't recognize the power of plants, something we stomp on daily, yet has so much power over us when we ingest. I am especially interested in synesthesia and the fact that many of the hallucinations are aural/ audio. This audio work will include all kinds of warnings within it. It will play in a park for 2 days; there is a small datura plant nearby. There will be a bench to sit on and something harmless to drink, people can relax and have a vicarious experience with this crazy weed.

I'm one of the few people I know who have had a good trip on it.I've got a great datura story, I was at party where EVERYONE took it, It ended up with 6 people in hospital for a week in comas...ha ha ..legendary!

Yeah i ended up in a hospital. I had a bad trip. But not in the way acid will make you nervous. People werejust pissing me off. Otherwise it was an ok trip. I was ok til 4 big people at the hospital said time to come with us. I said i wanna stay home. As soon as they grabbed me i went berzerk. Till they gave me some valium. Anyway smoking it has nice effects. Just take your time smoking it. You should have seen the look in the cops eyes when i was talking to his partner and holding an in depth conversation with him about the recent disasters. Well the cop was alone. hahaha. IM glad i did it. Cuz i have one hell of a trip under my belt. A 3 day on at that.

Did you see his "partner" plain as day? Was he talking back to you? I've always wondered what these Datura hallucinations are like. Was he/she like a "ghost?" Please elaborate on what the hallucinations were like, especially the ones where people appear out of thin air. Thanks.
 
When I have a few free days and if I find a proper set and setting for it, I'm sure it will be a great experience! (Setting will be FAR away from any hospital)
 
the best way to describe it would be your living a dream. And you cannot tell what is real and what is not. Plus your balance is fucked. I fell down every 5 minutes. I even fell from the top of my stairs.
