Just curious. :)
Have you ever faked an injury or pain at the doctor or emergency room?
Someone I know May or may not have done just that today..
My friend said he went in complaining of pain in his sack, after an ultrasound & CT with no visible cause for the pain they diagnosed him with infection of the sack. Can't remember the exact name. Anywho, he got 4 shots of D, a couple 7.5 mg Vics & walked out with some antibiotics and a script for 20 7.5 mg dros.
He is however not a frequent flier so I'm sure that helped his case.
I'm a female by the way, it wasn't me! Lol
Just heard a lot about people faking migraines & such but that was a first for me, sack pain haha.
I am in no way giving ideas. I was just told this & was curious as to whether or not other people do this kinda stuff?!

People do it all the time, making it harder for real pain patients (myself included) to get help n we end up living in misery or doin illegal things for a legitimate problem.

Around my town, people fake so much I sat having a massive panic attack with my HB over 140 n BP high bc the ER dr was afraid to give me alprazolam. His partner was being sued (story he told) bc he prescribed diazepam to a pt n they died OD'ing on it. I got so mad I couldn't get help, with an 18 yr history of panic, that I told the dr off n left. Tellin him off did take my mind off my panic n I felt better for awhile... Lol

But to answer ur post, I personally have nvr faked pain to get a pain reliever.

Me either! I've had kidney stones & had to wait it out for 4 hours just to be seen while someone sat with "10/10" pain level while texting, laughing and talking.

Trust me,addiction will make you do crazy things. My ex was so desperate that he poured scalding water over his hand.It worked too, but its a truly pathetic way to live. When things have gone that far its not fun anymore and you cant even look at yourself in the mirror.Hate to admit it but there have been times that I would have easily done the same thing if need be.My first CT off of H was so bad I was about to break into the dealers house, but thankfully instead I was honest with my addiction and ended up at the suboxone doctor begging for relief.

Been there too! So many damn people faking it that even with a dx the drs are hesitant to give u anything better than ibuprofen. Which, even at 800 mgs, sucks!

It took 3 months of sheer pain to get a dr to finally see I wasn't seeking n I was in pain twice in my life now. By then I needed fentanyl & dilaudid n surgery (which coulda been avoided). One was for an anal fissure after giving birth & once for pancreatitis. I was almost dead with the pancreatitis before getting help. My liver enzymes were 46,000 & my liver was ready to say I quit!

Every time I've been in the hospital and gotten pain meds I've had legitimate pain. The feeling of relief from true pain is incredible. I am however guilty of slightly exaggerating where my pain was on the pain scale (it's all relative anyway; one person's 10 is another's 5) by a number or 2 to continue getting meds after receiving them initially. I often times would tell the nurses the pain isn't severe, but I don't want it to get that way and would ask for the meds just to keep the pain in check and keep me comfortable and they're were never any objections.

I'm actually in the hospital right now and am not in any pain, but I have been asked more times than I can count "are you in pain?" and I could easily say yes and milk this, but I just want to get my antibiotics and get out of here. Don't get me wrong if I had even slight pain I would speak up and try to get some opiates over NSAIDs, but considering I'm not in any pain, I don't want to complicate things and have to deal with more xrays, MRIs and ultrasounds just for a couple days of guilty pleasure.

I had to LOL when I saw this thread. Couple months back I was desperate for Opiates, so I figured I'd take a stab at just scheduling a typical Doc appointment & unleashing my verbal articulate doing this in my years as a Opiate addict.

I always just assumed even though my Doc doesn't know my drug history. At 20yrs old coming in with even semi legitimate symptoms, I would just get shot up with a strong NSID while from that point forever carrying the label of a drug seeker.

Anyway, after some research I found an interesting article by a BLighter who claimed he got Norcos successfully by simply claiming he had "intense" pain around his left testicle to his doc. Don't wanna go into detail as I know its against BL guidelines to provide info on acquiring substances.

After some good acting skills, I got sent home with 50mg Tramadols. Didn't wanna push it but since I've always been pretty educated on my drugs & being unsatisfied with the end result, I just claimed I was highly prone to seizures and without hesitation he switched my meds from Trammies to Norcos and like that it was done.

No refills on "Narcotic" medications but again wasn't expecting much to begin with so a 90 day supply of Norco 10/325s was pretty fucking dope. Killed the bottle within 2 weeks LOL but it was cool while it lasted. Always been very articulate with my words, I always figured I could pull it off if it really came down to it but honestly I just really liked the fact he trusted me in the end.

I mean even though I realize I did lie to get that initially. As time progressed, when I truly did want help on coping with my social anxiety, depression etc. I always able to get Ativan with actual refills no problem so that was cool.

But yeah couldn't believe I walked out with a script that day LOL...It was crazy especially being so young in a doctors eyes. 20yrs old claiming unbearable pain/anxiety on my 1st visit? Never would of thought haha.
