Have I potentially already ruined the experience for myself?

I've broken the "one month rule" that I always remind people of with empathogens and I'm worried about if any damage done is irreversible or if MDMA shall still be wonderful if I take a longer break next time. (I'm thinking 2 months, possibly 3)

Basically, I have only taken MDMA itself once, but I have taken similar serotonergic drugs several times.

I first tried 6-APB in November, then again on New Year's Eve. Then at the start of the month I took 5-APB. Last week, just under 3 weeks from when I took 5-APB I took MDMA for the first time, and yesterday I took a large dose of Methylone.

It wasn't too well thought through - I let myself off on the original 3 week break between 5-APB and MDMA because I'd been trying to obtain MDMA since I first became interested in drugs - with no luck, until last week - but the Methylone was more of a case of me not thinking at the time.

So yes, my main question is - am I in any trouble right now, is my next roll likely to be with less magic, even if I give it time? Also, what tips do you guys have to aid SERT recovery in the next couple of months that I don't use any empathogens? :)

Thanks!

^ L-Tryptophan is much better.

Chances are you have done some damage to your receptors... depending on how many re-doses and what other drugs you have been taking, it might not be so bad. MDMA can be relatively forgiving with its neurotoxicity, as long as you provide for proper rest in between.

If you take a good long 3+ month break, Im sure you could easily achieve 99% of the magic, so to speak. If you take the proper breaks after that (2-3 months) than you should be able to keep it there

None of the substances were redosed, I took 110mg of 5-APB on I believe the 6th of March, then 1 Pink Cockerel last friday (as in, a week ago, not last night) which one report on Pillreports said was 110mg of MDMA, and finally ~200mg (friend gave me an eyeballed dose at a concert, since he doesn't have scales and I obviously didn't bring a set with me) of Methylone last night.

I eat a lot of cheese which I recall is high in L-Tryptophan, so I don't really need to change much there it seems, I tend to have at least 8 slices of cheese on bread each day. Unfortunately being a veggie I miss out on all the L-Trytophan in meat though.

eat, sleep n exercise well n you'll be just fine, what you've done is extremely minor on the "abuse" scale.

Oddly when I was taking E every week for a while, although a little less exhilarating there was a new thing - looking forward to it, being comfortable with the effect and an expectation that was going to be fulfilled. The thought of having a bad experience vanished and my body seemed to be more use to the 4 hours of dancing also.

Yes cheese is, Also eat bananas,
To what extent are you a veggie? Do you drink milk for example?

I think that the lower down the Chemical synthesis chain, the less 'toxic' our bodies think the chems are and L-Tryptophan is before 5-HTP.
For example, I'd rather take L-Tyrosine than L-Dopa to aid my dopamine system.

Using mdma requires self control. Here on bluelight the one month rule exists. Is there anyone who can keep the same love magic with one-month use? The short answer is no.
Space your serotonergic drug use at least three months.

While supplementing might help, nothing beats a good diet, sleep and exercise.

You have not ruined the experience, true MDMA is fairly consistent and it's possible to have mind-blowing rolls week after week after week for years and only have small differences in the experience.

The most important part is your dealer. Find a good dealer and you could potentially never lose the magic.
The second most important part is, like I previously stated, your life style. Being healthy and so on.
Third is spacing your rolls out. Serotonin takes a little while to heal back and many RC's do just as much or more damage as mdma.

While it's an amino acid and supplementing it can also be done by eating plenty of meat, L-tryptophan is broken down to 5-htp inside the body. 5-htp alone must be absorbed, passing through the digestive system. 5-htp is also said to be hard on the heart (which I find no scientific evidence of). I have always acknowledged L-tryptophan as more important for rebuilding serotonin as the body is made to break it down for that very purpose.

I use L-tryptophan to aid sleep. I probably will never use 5-htp. But supplements are overrated in the ecstasy community.

Serotonin does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier so when you take 5HTP your liver gets a rapid "overdose" of serotonin which enters the blood immediately and not much goes into the brain.

Serotonin is an essential neurotransmitter to many bodily functions from appetite and bowel movements to sleep but in doses higher than necessary it is very toxic. Not only neurotoxic but also toxic to the body. Some cancerous tumors secrete serotonin into the blood and it is also found in bee and wasp stings (ouch). Obviously it's not something you want higher-than-needed levels of floating around your body.

As for tryptophan vs 5HTP - tryptophan is readily available in dietary sources, is an essential protein in modest amounts, and the body is used to making it into 5htp (and also serotonin with light exposure & melatonin in darkness)
