A very dear and close friend went overseas for a few years; he was doing speedballs (meth & h). He's back in the country and for the past 2 months he hasn't used to anybody's knowledge. Currently he's in a mental institution where he's given benzos and anti psychotics due to paranoic/pschizophrenic tendencies. I haven't been able to speak to him but i've know through his parents that he insists there are microchips/parabolic/electromagnetic implants in his head monitoring him, he hears voices, and while this may be part of meth induced psychosis this has persisted for about 2-3 months like I've said always with the same focus on these implants in his head. He's in his mid 20's and I've done drugs with him from weed to heroin and everything in between. One night we had over 500mg (easily) - 800mg MDMA per person and I saw him in delerium and there was a period of a few hours where he didn't make sense at all and vividly believed in obscene/ridiculous illusions. I've seen him act a bit odd sometimes in extreme circumstances like that massive MDMA sesssion for example and other friends of ours have said they felt there was something 'off' with him but nobody could tell what b/c he was NEVER like this. Odd or not, when sober he's very intelligent (university type) and very articulate (used to be).
Could the meth have done permanent brain damage?
Is there any kind of treatment for post-meth abuse/damage?
Is there any chance that I will ever see my friend again (the way I know him)?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

, but I wouldn't place to much blame on them. Hopefully there are positive developments in the battle against this and all other mental illnesses.
