I'd say, they haven't really enhanced it overall.
I love drugs, mostly rc's, they have taught me a lot and taken me to some very good and very bad places.
Shit like phenazepam multiple day blackouts, amp addiction, gbl hospitalisations have taken a lot away from me, but that's more a natural selection type thing.

Yes, they definitely have......Now, it has opened my eyes to trying new things and having new experiences......I have stories to tell people, like the time I got pulled over in Texas with an ounce of weed and they let me go, shit like that goes a long way.......So, if you stay away from the needles and shit like that, it can have a positive effect in your life.....If you get carried away and lose sight of who you are, it can bring you the fuck down

Without a doubt.

They have hindered it at times too, through irresponsible use.

But, in regard to drug use enhancing my life, I would never have met the people I have, or come so far as I have had my imagination not been challenged and had I never questioned the way I live.

I'm still doing it, mind you and I am a work in progress as a person - we all are and it's what you make of it that counts. Drugs or no drugs.

Stoned as fuck Jude101;)

I wouldnt say drugs have enchanted my life so much... the opposite being honest.
Enchanted in ways to know there is ultimate happiness to get even if it was once a yeaar thing.

Without a doubt. Drugs have destroyed my innocence but to me, that is a good thing. I've always had problems with addiction but without psychoactive's i wouldn't be the person I am today.

*YES, and no doubt about that.

*I have learned very much from drugs...

*I am a person who needs that aspect for living life very original and special one; we all need something, and drugs are my way and day, my wife and life.

*I only regret those excessive alcohol intake periods of mine(thought learned about those too, there are still days of blackout).

If it weren't for my extreme interest in drugs (pharmacology), I would have no motivation at all. So I think they have definitely given me some sort of purpose in life.

Yeah same here. I was a daily drunk for 25+ yrs & have been sober for 8 yrs now. If I only had all the $$$ I pissed away at bars, I'd be 1 rich son-of-a-bitch.
That & ciggies [6 months cig-free=D]...I should've never started those damn things at age 13. But by 15, I had discovered my true meaning for living -- WEED!!8) :D =D

Without thinking I put no, but I can think of two ways they have helped:

1. socially, because i have met a lot of my friends through drug use, and taking drugs is a big part of my social life.

2. a few times i have had "epiphanies" (sp?) when im stoned or tripping that make me feel better when im sober... sometimes i am not sure if smoking pot helps me or hurts me.

i do like my life now that im a drug addict better than my life before i got involved with drugs. before i started drugs, i was very lonely and bored and had no friends. doing drugs got me interacting with people again and helped my boredom, and that helped me get out of my depression cycle, for the time being... until doing drugs created another set of problems, so i dont know.

if i could do it over again, im glad i started doing drugs... i just wish i could quit now.

When I was in High School I used to think that adderall made me do better in school. Now looking back, I dont know.

I would buy and take it before a big test. It seemed like I would always do better on the test, but if I hadnt already known the answers before hand, then the adderall would be moot. On the other hand, the adderall might have made me a better test taker. Like it may have made me pay better attention to what was on the test. So, really Im still kind of up in arms about it.

Nowadays though, I cant stand adderall. I havent taken it in years. It just makes me feel like shit.

i went one quarter in school taking concerta every day before physics class instead of getting high before class and my grades went from Cs to As. i know it was the concerta that helped. i got really ocd in that class about taking notes and paying attention. if i had to do it again though, i definitely would NOT. thinking about taking concerta every day makes me shudder.

sorry i am double posting, i think... i dont know if theres a strict rule against that here if u are quoting someone.

Pot has singlehandedly made me the person I am today... and for the most part I like myself. Without pot and shrooms, I don't know where I'd be today.

I didn't have time to read all the resonses. i'm sure there are some good ones in there.

But NO drugs have not enhanced my life really. What can a rec drug do for you?
The psychedelics in the 70's where fun to trip on but I did not have any mystical experience with them...just quite a few strange ones though.

Moved on to coke and alcohol and that lasted about 7-8 years before I was completely fried and had to stop.

Got clean for 12 years.

Went back into drug use and I am now addicted to prescription opiates.

Smoked cannabis throughout all my drug use (except for the 12 years clean...that was 100% clean)

They allow me to escape from the day to day realities of a stressfull life with professional job, wife, kid, house, car etc. But I would rather be clean.

The truth is I find my job so overwhelmingly stressfull that I need the temporary relief from stress. There has to be healthier ways though and I am experimenting with mindfulness based meditation.

MDMA made me realize that I really loved my ex-girlfriend and now we are back together.

Problem is that I still like to roll without her knowing which causes me to always hide shit.

So, my answer is I'm not sure!!

yup the psychedelic experiences are so amazing they literally shape you (not chemically, but just from your reaction to what they show you)

of course, you could only understand if youve had a psychedelic experience. and after time the experience does tend to fade, so i make sure to keep up my mushroom eating at least twice a year :p
