Opioids Have Bupe appointment Wednesday and 20mg of methadone to hold me till then..help

My Sub appointment is Oct 30th. Well I got 60mg of methadone to hold me over but ended up taking 40mg today. So with that left (20mg) how should I dose it?Its I was thinking of skipping tomorow and taking gabapentin(2,000mg). Then 10 mg of the done Sunday and Monday. Would that give enough time for the done to get outta my system to avoid prectipitated w/d? I might end up getting some hydros oxys to for a last shabang but if I take it it want be past Monday. And do they just ask your history and than give you a tablet and have you wait to go into w/d? Oh and would it be okay to take 10mg of methadone early tues(8am) and be okay for my appointent the next day at 1 PM..or 5mg instead of 10. My appointe
 
OR, would it be okay to take the rest of the 20mg of methadone tomowrow, skip sunday and take like 120 of of lopeeraminde early monday and be okay not to go into precipitated w/d that way(lope keeps me okay 2 days on large doses,then by third day of not having any start getting sniffies sore legs goin to bathroom, or do you have to have illegal opiates in yr system to get..i don't know if i'm gonna be able to get any oxy or at least hydros this weekend although I wanted one last shabang this weekend..or if I do get a hold of some oxy and hydro just take it until tues(small dose tues morning, then my appointment the next afternoon at one. Sorry for all the questions I just really feel this would help me im so tired of spending EVERY CENT to shoot up roxi's and get a bunch of lortab or percs. Don't want there to be nohting illgeal in me and they be like I can't get it, just cuz I could'nt come up for it and because its dry all the sudden..
 
Unfortunately, due to the long duration of methadone in your system you need to not take it several days prior to inducing on buprenorphine. I believe 4 days is ideal.. Because when you're on a stable dose of methadone it takes 4 days for any increases or decreases to take effect. I would try and be off it as long as you can possibly stand before taking any bupe, precipitated withdrawal is a very real risk and it's a bitch. A lot of the doctors unfortunately seem to give out incorrect information on this. If you must take an opiate between now and your appointment it needs to be one with a short duration like oxycodone, hydrocodone, heroin, etc. And then a benzo will help with a lot of the WD symptoms in the 24 hours before inducing. I agree with rhun. that is why you probably only have that much methadone left is because you are supposed to skip a few days before you get on suboxone. I would reccomemd going through the withdrawl like you are supposed to. they are going to give u suboxone not subutex so if you do still have the done in your system you WILL get sick and I am saying this from personal experience not from hear say. I went from 180 mgs a day of methadone down to 25 mgs a day I think and was still in full withdrawl 3 days later when I got induced with the suboxone. trust me its not worth it., You are only trying to avoid withdrawl now to enevitably go through it starting wednesday anyway. As for the drug test I wouldn't worry if you come up positive for methadone because if your sub doc knows that is what you were on he may be expecting that but even so at your first visit they probably aren't suprised by positive drug tests. that is why your their right??? No one wants to be sick. I get it. however, in this situation getting induced with suboxone rewuires u to be in withdrawl or you will regret it anyway. but if you are attement on not getting sick I would stick with your first plan of spacing it out. don't take any tomorrow. methadone has a long half life. then take 10 on Monday and 10 on Tuesday you will feel crappy but no where near full wd's. people don't need as much methadone to function as they think they do.
 
Okay..I just took the last of the methadone, i think 15-25mg. It Saturday. It should keep me fine tomowrow I think,i just have to work until. If I don't have an Illegal opiate in my systyem will they not give it to me cuz they think im just trying to get a free script,wish I had oxy,or hyro but I dont And would it be okay to take say gabapentin for w/d by Monday and immodium by monday(30mg saY? Or should I be fine physically tomorow, Monday gonna start to get sucky Tues gonna suck then I go wednesday and get inducted?
 
Just take low doses of oxys or hydros until your sub appointment. Subs are much better for recovery than methadone imo. Usually the doctors know if you are going through w/d or still high on opies, but I guess it depends on the dr.

No point in going through w/d for a couple days. Maybe try to wait 12-24 hrs before your sub appointment after taking you're last dose of whatever opiate you choose, if you choose to do so.

Docs also seem to prescribe A LOT of suboxone, much much more than needed. You really only need 2-8mg a day even with a really bad previous opiate habit as long as you take it several times a day (1mg in moring, 1 in after noon, 1 at night, 1 before bed =4mg total and no w/d, or whatever you choose to dose).
 
OK thank you,ended up taking 48 mg of Loperamide today at work..I swear I have no will power. But thank you sveets I plan on getting the Norcos tomorow and not taking anything tuesday to be on the safe side. And does sub provide anykind of "buzz"? Im not expecting to get high but is there any type of opiate glow I guese is the word...

On your first couple of doses you'll get a glow maybe even a high but this will pass once you into it.
 
Oh. I know people say the same thing about methadone but I just don't believe it. They seem kinda buzzed not high but buzzed,add benzo's and and jesus christ. I guese sub isn't like this? I was going to to the methadone maintaince thing but I would have to drive two hours everyday there and back and have to get up at 3 every morning... I've had bupe one time for a couple days and snorted the whole 8mg the 1st time I did it and was fine,had a glow,happy feelin' then had two hits of weed and nodded the hell out hard in front of everybody. Weed does that to me with opiates, more so than benzo's I don't know why..
