Have appointment with med provider to discuss ADHD med alternative to listamfetamine? Vyvanse. Current combo of meds include Vyvanse, Doxepin 10mg, cyclobenzaprine 20 mg, melatonin 9 mgs, L-Methylfolate 15 mg, aspirin 81 mg, Omeprazole 20 mg, lisinopril 10 mg, Tadalafil 5 mg, Alfuzosin 10mg Sam-e S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine-disulfate 1200 mg (4 tablets) Gaba L-Theanine 2 capsules.

My issue with Vyvanse, Doxepin and Sam-e is this particular combination creates a high baseline serotonin tone which can cause downregulation of 5-HT2A receptors, reduce psychedelic sensitivity, muted visuals and reduce “headspace”

Up for discussion will be non-stimulate ADHD meds, Strattera, or middle of road effect methylphenidate stimulate like Ritalin, Concerta etc.

Not exactly sure I’m going to present this to my provider other than just come out and say it.

I Take Strattera (atomoxetine). It Gives Me A Little Motivation And Calms Me Down Slightly. The Doxepin May Be What Is Hindering Your 5-HT2a Neuronal Array.

i used to take the non-stimulant med Qelbree. it’s a relatively new SNRI, only came out in like 2020-2021. i found it better than strattera. not as effective as stims but i cant have those. i stopped taking it cause my insurance wouldn’t cover it, cause the biggest issue with it is since it’s so new it’s brand name only. the patent is still in effect so no generics for another 10 years at least. didn’t give me many side effects outside of the first couple days and when i stopped abruptly
