Have a heavy habit heroin.

I have been on subs for about 3 years now.I have been using heavily last 3 weeks.I snort and do not IV imo I think its all the same heroin is heroin.I would ike to know should I just quit cold turkey or go back to subs?I think the subs would be out my system by now and replaced it with heroin.I am just scared of the WDS.Should I taper with subs or just quit cold turkey?I have a good job which I have been at 11 years and I just dont want to lose it all.I know taking the subs would ease my wds.I would be starting all over again though and I just sick and tired of using all together.Any suggestions would be great and would love to hear opinions.
 
if i were you i would out weigh the good side of the subs and the negative side of the subs. if your life was much better the 3 years you were on the subs you might want to go back on them. If you are trying to quit using altogether and are afraid of the WDS i would suggest a good sub taper program. That way you wont lose your job for being sick.
 
Yes I just want to quit it all.What is a good taper program to follow do you know of any good ones?
 
well it all depends on how long you want to be on the subs. There are some good short taper programs i have herd of and some more longer programs. it all depends on how many mg you start off on. i would advise talking to your doc first about a taper program that will work best for your specific situation. my advise if i were you and didn't want to be on subs i would choose a shorter taper. Not allowing your body to build up to much buprenorphine making the wd's shorter.
 
When I was coming off methadone I came off 90 mg cold turkey , Finally after about 3 weeks I couldn't handle it and did heroin for about a month, then from that I got off heroin cold turkey. It was no fun but I felt like it was the best option for me, I felt so trapped taking methadone and finally had the urge to stop. I think you should just try to cold turkey, because if you took suboxone now you may enter a rebound effect which would start your suboxone WD all over. If it becomes too much then do a suboxone taper but try cold turkey first.
Best of luck to you, i'm coming off a heavy IV heroin habit right now. Detoxing cold turkey with just some xanax. I've been laying in bed watching netflix trying to keep my mind off of everything much love to you.

I would cold turkey the heroin. That's just my experience.

Basically, I would take a week off work and go into a detox program. They are usually seven days and they will keep you fairly comfortable (depending on where you go.)

If you don't have this option, I would suggest getting some benzos, and comfort meds to help you be able to work.
 
Taper with suboxone. A rapid taper will make it really easy. The only danger is getting back on suboxone full time which is definitely a much better situation than using street opioids and the dangers and instability of fighting against withdrawal and instability in life. When you are stabilized on Suboxone your mind is clear and it allows you to lead a normal life with the safety net of the blockade. It's like purgatory as you are still chemically dependant but taking it just keeps you stable. Do what you believe you can do. If you set your mind to it you can accomplish anything. I know exactly how hard this all is and I am utilizing suboxone right now and it's helping me start reaching goals in recovery.

Hey guys thank you for your suggestions.Ya I can take a week off.I got plenty of suboxones to.I decided to get high again.So when should I take suboxone when I am complety on full thrown wds from heroin or partial??.I would rather just work and be on subs.Just a scary thought I know I am gonna go on heavy wds.I am 36 I am just starting to really get sick of it.I am just getting high to get straight now and not even getting high smh.I have never tried methadone.I heard its worse tought to kick.Subs to suck.So let know please.God bless you guys and thank you :).
 
Thats great to hear I was on for 3 years and was doing awesome.I just got my review form work and it was horrible and I know the use is affecting it alot.I just want to stop and its so hard to do.I even been to a half way house for 2 years and got clean.Keep doing what your doing and god bless.Let me know how thing do work out for you.
 
Best of luck, I have been in similar situations,only with methadone. I was always scarred of sub's and going into WD. I know u said u will detox with sub's, but ifu ever decide on methadone, do a rapid(2 week )detox, never over 45 mgs, then taper off as fast as u can handle. The clinic drs and supervisors will lie and say meth can't harm you, I saw so many handicapped people on 125mg which is just unnecessary. They want u addicted and to keep coming! It destroys bones, cartledge and teeth. My vanity saved me ultimately. Wish I could stop mess I g with the d but I haven't gotten there yet. Keep a good thought for NE and I'll def do so in return. If being on maintenance helps make your quality of life better I would suggest staying on them. I was on subs for two years and it was terrible for my state of mind. I ended up going back to using and then going to a long term rehab. This may not be an option for you, however, if you truly want to quit you should do whatever it takes. Also, if you continue using dope or pills the chances of you successfully managing an addiction and a job at the same time are almost nil over the long term.

If you do decide to quit, make sure you have some sort of recovery plan and therapy in place. I see a therapist, and I occasionally attend twelve step meetings when I have something I need to get off my chest that only addicts and alcoholics will understand.
 
hey whats going on people?how is it going?Ok well I went back to subs.Than I also went back to heroin smh.I hate the feeling now what subs give me it sucks.It does work while I am high now while typing this.I am just scared to get off completly it sucks.Well what I am asking now should I go back on subs ??or keep getting high???MAN THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
